The Chief of State of the New Republic is the highest political office within the Republic, dealing with several tasks. The Chief of State:
- is the head of the Executive Branch;
- is the Commander in Chief of the military forces;
- acts as the link between the Senate of the New Republic and the Executive branch;
- can break tied votes within the Senate;
- is responsible for management of the Senate elections;
- can grant pardons.
The current Chief of State is Taka Aioko.
