Life at Home

Drugs, Lots of Drugs

Born on the glaciers of Kor Utoradii in Hutt Space, Renata Krill spent much of her childhood running from hideout to hideout. Cared for by her mother, Juliana Chimora, Renata was thrown into a life below the poverty line, abandoned by her father on the outskirts of Los Gathos, a city overwhelmed by crime and piracy. While her mother tried her best to raise her, Juliana was gripped by a strong ryll addiction, struggling to provide for her newest daughter as she spent whatever she could on her destructive habit. Her older siblings had grown and managed to escape the clutches of her mothers addiction by moving away, however they failed to ever make contact with Juliana and rescue Renata from the horrible environment she endured. Paying for a dilapidated apartment by the use of her body, Renata was forced to sit in the corner of the one bedroom apartment they possessed as her mother slept with her various landlords, and whomever had a credit or two as she pimped herself out in an effort to buy food and pay the rent, or to embrace her drug addiction.

Going on year after year, Renata lacked a basic education, failing to speak her first words until the age of seven. Her mother would come and go, sometimes disappear for days on end, forcing Renata to starve as she crawled through their apartment, attempting to avoid the broken syringes and deathsticks where possible. Whenever she managed to be taken outside by her mother, she enjoyed the warmth of what sunlight she could get, before being used as a mule to store drugs and food for her mother as Juliana stole whatever she could from the various local merchants. On the various occasions Juliana was beaten, Renata was thrown from her mothers arms, regularly sustaining injuries from the altercations, watching her mother being abused by the various pirates they encountered, unable to receive the comfort of someone that could provide a life for her.

As she grew a little older, around the age of nine or ten, Renata was able to sneak past her hallucinating, barely conscious mother and embrace freedom by herself. She would spend her time walking through the various local markets, casually introducing herself to whomever she could in order to curry favours to trade for food and shelter. While she would return to her mother from time to time, Juliana was too lucid to recognise that Renata had left the apartment in the first place. Under the supervision of a humble Kuati merchant, Renata was put in control of a small inventory of food products, responsible for their display and upkeep. While the income level was minimal, it allowed her some revenue to trade for food of her own, while giving her a basic street education to get by. While she would frequently witness the stalls being ransacked or held up at blaster point for whatever credits they had by a passing gang or piracy organisation, she began to build a small amount of money, while learning how the rough streets began to work. Trading spice and other raw foods, she began to develop a skill of reading people, analysing their weak points of negotiation to ensure she got a decent price for her efforts. However when words failed to reach her to a desired outcome, she would be known to conclude a sale and exact revenge a number of days later, picking the pocket of the merchant to recover whatever credits she had lost through her increasing stealth skills. While the merchant was impressed with her swelling abilities, he disapproved of Renata's criminal activities and delivered a swift ultimatum, either she needed to cast aside her less legitimate ways of income or face redundancy. Flashing an innocent look on her face, she promised to recant her unlawful ways, but had every intention of breaking the promise when it presented itself with a guarantee she wouldn't be caught.
