MC80 Home One Class Star Cruiser
Perhaps the most well known Mon Calamari cruiser is Home One, the headquarters cruiser serving as the flagship and the traveling headquarters of the Rebel Alliance. The Mon Calamari converted this beautiful starliner into a lethal and unique combat vessel, covering the sleek transparent surfaces with battle armor and heavy shielding, and fitting hundreds of weapons into what were observation galleries and sensor stations.
The earliest Mon Calamari vessel to be converted for war duty and almost cylindrical in shape, the Home One is covered in organic-looking blister pods that cover its surface seemingly distributed in a haphazard pattern, Mon Calamari sensibility and aesthetics however have efficiently placed sensor arrays, recessed weapon batteries and shield generators within these protrusions. This is an unpleasant surprise for anyone foolish enough to attack this ship. Although not as well-armed as the Super Star Destroyer, it is able to stand up against most other capital ships. Being equipped with Heavy Lasers, in addition to the standard Capital ship armament of Turbolasers, allows it to also engage enemy fighters and freighters. This offers a distinct advantage over the other Mon Cal Cruiser designs as well as the Imperial Star Destroyer and Victory Star Destroyer. The Home One also offers a large docking and hangar bay.
In recent years, Home One serves as the New Republic's flagship and is regarded by many as a beautiful piece of starship engineering. Because of its unique status, this ship is not commonly seen in the military field, but instead utilized for command and ceremonial uses.
