Overview
The Cloakshape is an antiquated design and, consequently, is considered by many to be insufficient for front line combat duty. This design, similar to other older starfighters, trades speed in favor of durability. This fighter comes standard with dual heavy lasers and 2 missile launchers. Designed as a short-range starfighter, the Cloakshape lacks hyperdrive capability, but compensates with maneuverability unmatched in its class. Especially this is true in atmospheric operations, as the rear tail fin greatly augments the craft's maneuverablity and stability. The low cost of production may be the reason to still see this craft in private military organizations, as the low price allows the purchaser to aquire 2-3 times the number of craft compared to some of the newer, more expensive starfighter models. However, most governmental organizations prefer not to use such seemingly outdated craft. Hence the Cloakshape Fighter doesn't see the same amount of action as in it's early years.
