House Descartes is a heavily militaristic former Royal House of Alderaan and lives by the tenets of Strength, Honour, and Integrity. It is believed to have been founded around the Year -21,000.

When the planet of Alderaan chose to ban all weapons, House Descartes refused to comply. Their land and titles were stripped, and the House was exiled from the planet along with a small fleet and a convoy of around two thousand nobles, soldiers, and engineers.

History

Formation

House Descartes was formed some time before galactic recordkeeping began, although internal records place the formation somewhere in the region of Year -21,000. Several generations of human settlers are thought to have passed before the House cemented itself in Alderaanian politics.

Stances in Galactic Conflict

House Descartes was a staunch supporter of the Galactic Republic, and one of the many noble houses who chose to adopt a hardline militaristic stance against the Sith Empire during the Great Galactic War. During the Interstellar Cold War, and the ensuing skirmishes on Alderaan, House Descartes sided with House Organa. In the modern day, House Descartes aligns itself with the Rebel Alliance in the Galactic Civil War.

Exile

After the violence of the Clone Wars, the Alderaanian senate voted to ban weapons on the planet's surface. A proud and militaristic house, House Descartes refused to comply with the edict, fearing that it would leave Alderaan vulnerable to attack and exploitation.

The actions of House Descartes were branded treasonous. It's lands and title were stripped, and it's people exiled to the cosmos.
