"The Nite Owls, led by Soma Wren, are an elite unit within Death Watch — warriors forged by loyalty, discipline, and an unshakable devotion to Mandalore’s ancient ways. Under Soma’s command, the Nite Owls have become both the silent blades and watchful guardians of Mandalorian honor, carrying out covert operations with precision and purpose.

Their emblem — a blue and silver Mythosaur fused with the sigil of the owl — symbolizes the unity of strength and wisdom. It represents their dual nature: silent hunters in the dark and fierce warriors in the light. This insignia is proudly displayed on their armor and banners, marking them as Mandalore’s unseen protectors.

Clad in blue and silver beskar’gam, each Nite Owl’s armor is a reflection of their heritage and rank. The T-shaped visor and sleek design provide both intimidation and efficiency, while the deep hues of blue honor their allegiance to Death Watch and their continued vigilance under Joqu Mir’s leadership.

Bound by the motto “Kyr’am Sur’ar Kaysh’ta” (Death Over Dishonor), the Nite Owls fight not for glory, but for the preservation of Mandalorian identity. They are the eyes in the dark, the echo of ancient warriors, and the steel-clad promise that Mandalore will never fall to weakness again.

Where shadows move and honor is tested, the Nite Owls rise — loyal, lethal, and unbroken. In the endless dark of the galaxy, when others falter, the Nite Owls remain — steadfast, loyal, and ever vigilant. For Mandalore. For the Creed. For Death Watch."

Creation

The Nite Owls were created off of the belief that Mandalore was no longer following the way. A belief that Soma, much like his father, acted upon. The 4 original members of the Nite Owls were either members of Evaar'la Wren, or descendants thereof: Soma Wren, Ania Laghmani, Durza Gurkesh, and Gratuar Wren. A silent 5th member, who didn't join the Nite Owls, but encouraged their creation was Amaryssa Enala, Soma's mother. Their fleet consisted of nothing but a few bits of junk and all involved agreed to follow Soma in the hopes of creating something greater than themselves.

A Follower's Plot

A member of Mandalore, Bukki Werda, approached Wren's 2IC, Ania Laghmani, with the promise of a faction and wealth under the agreement that Soma Wren would be captured and turned in to Mandalore. Ania allegedly went straight to Durza Gurkesh, whom she trusted, and informed her of the plan. The two would discuss the possibilities of following through, refusing, or negotiating further, but Ania leaked the plan to Soma before the day was out after agreeing with Durza to tell him so he could fake his capture and drop Death Watch. Soma made the knowledge public before he could be captured, but the operation was culled before it ever began. Later on, in an incident that did not shock the galaxy, Ania presumably misoperated her vessel into the vicinity of a sun and her ship was destroyed. She was later found dead onboard a Fury. Durza Gurkesh was promoted to 2IC. Reports vary on whether or not this was an intentional and orchestrated series of events, but the events above were pieced together from leaked documents and memoranda by now former Field Marshal Durza Gurkesh. Though Xyre Vindictus reportedly told Ania "We used that attempt to goad you back to Mandalore to show the proof we needed that gave us the true colors of our enemy. Under handed and lacking honor." A completely unfair statement considering his lack of knowledge.

Aftermath

After an internal schism between XO Soma Wren and Field Marshal Durza Gurkesh regarding how she and the Nite Owls were not respecting Soma's right to monarchy, the two agreed to part ways, violently splitting the remaining members into two sides forever. Durza took with her Elvira von Wolfe and Atin Karoya, the newest recruits, while Endrass Arden and Gratuar Wren stayed. After the departure by Durza and her other recruits, Endrass Arden and left to join Asep Shadowscale on a separate endeavor (and the New Republic after his death), taking her recruit, Daxil Zagrfin, with her. Any remaining loyalists could not find their feet and Soma Wren was eventually deposed by Joqu Mir, the acting second-in-command of Death Watch at the time. Soma was ousted from command and the Nite Owls was officially dissolved at the command of the Death Watch leaders. Durza found work elsewhere in a healthier environment for better pay, and Soma Wren is still MIA after allegedly getting detained by authorities on Malastare for public intoxication and disorderly conduct. His one still loyal follower, Gratuar, has gone silent.

The Wren-spiracy

Not long after Soma Wren's arrest on Mandalore, the galaxy was thrown into a frenzy when authorities revealed to the public that Soma Wren was connected to a long list of petty misdemeanors under a variety of aliases who were all purportedly the same exact guy under different suits of armors and helmets - he usually masquerades as a Mandalorian but has been known to pretend being other kinds of aliens as well. These other aliases include names such as Slaine Varad, Arorim Solyc, (most notably) Nero Wren, Damon Wren, Emil Everett, and most recently: Soma Wren and Elgar Thelcar. Authorities are currently investigating other known associates in the past that may also have just been Soma Wren wearing a different set of clothes, sometimes even women's apparel. These names include "former" associates such as Gratuar Wren and Endrass Arden (OOC: formerly Ania Laghmani and Elara Finnall before that), as well as other loyalists from Evaarla Wren. Galaxy news journalists reported from an interview with Durza Gurkesh that she "can't recall ever being in the same room as Soma and Gratuar at the same time."
