The asteroid of Sirtaeras is predominantly known for being home of the Sirtaeras University of Sevarcos (SUS), the Tamerin sector's elite liberal arts research university. The university proudly touts its mission of producing high-quality basic research and training for the next generation of graduate and undergraduate students. SUS is highly selective and known for prioritizing the social sciences such as economics, sociology, and psychology. While SUS complements its counterpart SorTech on the Sortumse asteroid very well, the two are bitter rivals. The students of SUS live in high rises on east campus while the main academic buildings are on west campus. In the center of the University is a stadium in which the University's sports teams, the SUS Swashbucklers, play. The students also frequent the bar on south campus, which has a spotty history of serving underage patrons.
