Sith Starfighter
The Sith Starfighter dates back to the Rakatan Infinite Empire. It was first commissioned during the Jedi Civil War when it was produced en masse by the Star Forge. After a short period of time, it quickly became a favorite due to the small size, which allowed for multiple fighters to be stored in even the smallest carriers, and the ease of its manufacture and deployment.
Comfort was never a priority when the starfighter was being designed, nor was safety. Many pilots have chosen to wear their space suit while flying, since they are likely to eject at some point during their short careers. The Sith Starfighter is best employed in situations where its speed and size are most likely to earn an advantage. After the destruction of the Star Forge, it became increasingly hard to find a Sith Starfighter due to the loss of the only factory that produced them.
In more recent days, the Sith Starfighter is usually seen in the possession of collectors across the galaxy. Ironically, the technology that once made it feared by all is now insignificant when compared to the current level of available fighter technology. Even with its disadvantages, the Sith Starfighter can still be seen in the far reaches of the galaxy, often with an upstart pilot at its helm. Unfortunately, it will never again be seen in as vast a quantity as when it was first produced during the Jedi Civil War.
