The Guardians of the Galactic Truths Wall Panels
This set of nine engraved stone panels was rescued from an ancient temple in war-torn Arvala, late in Year 25. With tensions rising between warring factions, and with the risk of the planet being subjected to an orbital bombardment increasing, preservationists chose to remove these truly unique panels and spirit them offworld to a more secure location. How they wound up in the possession of famed antiquities collector and Force Grand Master Belloq Tull is not known, though there are rumors he paid a hefty sum for their purchase and investiture at his Meliorist Museum and Artifact Collectorium. The panels range as high as ten feet tall, and are as long as twenty-two feet. Just getting them off-planet in their entirety must have been a challenging and expensive endeavor.
The panels’ material has been described as marble, though they bear no resemblance to any marble known in the galaxy. To date, no ethnographer or astroarchaeologist has been able to identify the culture that produced these magnificent relics, nor has the pictographic writing been translated; some ethnographers have compared it to early Gree hieroglyphs or neo-Rakatan script, but have been unable to provide any satisfactory translation. Some researchers have theorized these are the so-called Celestials[1] , those undeniably powerful and indescribably ancient entities responsible for such galactic wonders as the designing of Centrepoint Station and the construction of the Intergalactic Hyperspace Barrier [2].
Some appraisers have suggested that the inscribed images and their accompanying texts have something to do with teachings about the Force, though whether Jedi, Sith or Other is unknown. Because of their stylistic beauty and their impressive depth and precision, they have been called the Guardians of the Galactic Truths, named specifically for the imposing Beings that appear to be presenting their messages.

The first of the set of nine, this panel presents two of the Guardians, each presenting two “orbs” that might stylistically represent planets, with perhaps a pair of moons or large satellites in orbit around them. The orb on the left contains a first-person perspective of what might be trees or forests, while the orb on the right seems to represent mountain ranges being lashed by storms or ocean waves. There are over fifty pictographs that seem to represent descriptions of these orbs, though no linguist has yet deciphered any of them.

The second of the set of nine wall panels displays two of the Guardians, though whether they’re the same two Guardians as on the first panel is unclear. Another fourteen Guardians process from left to right below the two larger ones. One of the Greater Guardians appears to be “creating” a series of eight pictographs that might be numbers, while the other Guardian motions to the eight symbols, as if challenging the observer to make sense of them.

Unlike the first two panels, this third one shows only one of the Greater Guardians as he interacts with a small levitating sphere encircled by rings, while fifteen Lesser Guardians appear in profile below. The focus of this panel is a large metallic orb or vessel with a long vertical neck, resting upon what looks like a cracked hemisphere, perhaps representing geologic plates from one of the “orb” planets depicted in the first panel. Another fifty-one indecipherable pictographs are etched into this panel. One Force User who meditated upon this panel swore that his ability to connect with the Force increased noticeably, following his lengthy contemplation.

The fourth of the panels contains only pictographs, a total of fifteen on the right, and a hard-to-discern number of them on the left. Unlike the previous panel’s pictographs, which were almost always square blocks, these appear to be built around narrow, elongated, vertical spheres, with additional etched markers encircling and emphasizing them. Some researchers have suggested this is a rudimentary instructional manual to the Guardians’ language, or perhaps their counting system. Though no two linguists can agree on what these pictographs say, all agree their presentation is exquisitely done.

Panel five of the set displays two of the Greater Guardians, in a similar presentation mode as panel Two, again accompanied by a set of the Lesser Guardians filing across the bottom. In this one, the Guardian on the left is indicating a set of six of the “number” pictographs from panel Four. Each of these “numbers” is accompanied by a triple-set of stylized semi-circular lines on their right side. Sections of the numbers are highlighted with metal reliefs, as are the Guardians themselves. One researcher has pointed out that the Guardian on the left has two stylized vertical markers in front of his face, which might indicate speech, while the Guardian on the right has a series of thin circular lines that might indicate an aura.

This panel is the largest of the group, and is definitely the most complex. One Greater Guardian appears to be “offering” a metallic sphere to a large construct in the center of the panel; some researchers suggest he’s using Force Telekinesis, based on what seem to be waves of energy extending from his hand. Four slightly smaller Guardians offer various items to this same central object, ranging from flat platters to what might be Beskar ingots. The complex object in the center – postulated to be anything from an altar with the hands of a Deity above it, to a complex machine being powered up – contains two empty holes, with a third filled in with an identical object as being offered by the Greater Guardian. Dozens of pictographs cover the panel, along with two dozen Lesser Guardians filing across the bottom, each one carrying metallic objects, possibly opening them as part of their offering.
