Description

Lamuir IV is the least hostile planet in the entire system. It is located at an adequate distance from the Lamuir Sun to maintain an alternation of mild warm and cool temperatures. For this reason, the planet has been colonized for millennia by different species, the most relevant being the travelers from the extinct Herglic Empire and the human colonists from the Core worlds.

More than 1500 years ago, the Tapani Empire was overthrown by the Tapani Federation, composed of the various noble houses that originated thousands of years before by human colonists. The Cadriaan House rules in the Lamuir system since then, taking the planet Lamuir IV as its capital. Its rulers have always shown an open character and commercial spirit, which has opened doors to travelers and has allowed the population of Herglics on the planet to grow without limit.

Since its entrance more than a millennium ago into the Galactic Republic, the mining exploitations of the rich planets of the system have been promoted from Lamuir IV, as well as the intense commerce through the hyperspace routes with the Core Worlds. The peace and economic prosperity it enjoyed was threatened with the fall of the Republic and the rise of ambitious powers. The Cadriaan House then opted to take advantage of its natural resources and make large concessions to mining corporations in exchange for sufficient economic power to ensure its military independence from external threats.

The planet used to have lush forests, but during centuries of intensive resource exploitation, a portion of the planet has been reduced to desert. The varied but fragile ecosystems are now protected, along with native vegetation and fauna. The cosmopolitan cities spread around the planet show a great diversity of species facilitated by the location of the system between two great hyperspace routes, the Rimma Trade Route and the Procopian Shipping Lane. This is why numerous cultural events are frequently held throughout the planet, the most important of which is by far the Priole Danna Festival.
