Description

Koren stands six feet, two inches with black hair and a short pony tail. He has side burns with small beard a mustache, and a well toned body due to his training. Though he is unsure if he is force sensitive, he is known for dressing in the attire of a Jedi knight. Which consists of a overtunic, an undertunic, plain loose-fitting trousers, a robe and an obi with sturdy field boots made of nerf hide.

Family

Born to a wealthy family, Tal-Koren was well cared for and rarely in short supply of anything but acceptance. While his mother was loving and accepted his beliefs, his father was stern and not as open. His father was a merchant and his mother was a former pilot and mechanic for hire, who would take any job despite her social status.

It's hard for me to read him at times. With that calm exterior, he would certainly make a good diplomat. Too bad he has a dislike of politics.

Koren has been influenced by many event's throughout his life. Naturally a a kind man, Koren will help anyone in need. Poor or wealthy, sick or healthy, week or strong, Koren helps all that ask. Growing up in a wealthy family gave him access to a gentleman's education which he continues to use to this day. As he had a aptitude for learning, it was easy for him to absorb anything he came into contact with. But his dislike for politics made it difficult to educate him in the art. His analytical mind and methodical nature makes him a reliable person in times of need.

He adopted a serious dislike for slavery, having grown up on a slave world where slavery was a common sight. He often helps escaped slaves by giving them credits, shelter and supplies for their escape; he has also been known to buy slaves to set them free. Koren's studies of the Jedi made him very calm and cool with his actions, making him a tough person to read. He is not one to get angry or seek vengeance, but if someone were to threaten or harm his friends or family, not even the demons of Corella will stop him from bring justice to bear on the people foolish enough do such a thing.

Koren has a love for the cultures of other races. Often claiming, "I'm so interested in cultures of other races, I have more alien friends than humans." Having spent a good amount of time on Ryloth, Koren has a extreme knowledge of the Twi'lek culture. He often use's their language and customs instinctively. Having showed him kindness, Koren has taken a liking to the Twi'lek race, and swore a "self-induced life debt" to the race. Koren goes out of his way to help them when ever he can.

Above all else, Koren is fascinated with the Jedi, to the point of being a follower of their ways. He is known for dressing in the attire of a Jedi, causing many to confuse him with a real one. His knowledge of the Jedi is extensive and has adopted their ways and fighting styles into his. He is known to speak in a number of languages, including Basic, Binary, Chadra-Fan, Jawaese, Mando'a, Shyriiwook and Twi'Leki. He also knows a little bit of Lekku, having been taught by his friend, Alema'Freetaa.

Tal-Koren as he battles Varias on Kamino

As a child, Koren's affiliation with the Jedi culture influenced his style of combat. Koren carries two Relby's with him, even though he doesn't know how to shoot, to deter anyone who would give him trouble. He named them Chaos and Passion, as a reminder to the Jedi code he follows. His primary weapons of choice are two chrome hilt swords with blades that retract into the hilts. His fighting style is also influenced by the Jedi. He has studied the fighting forms used by the Jedi and has adopted forms IV (Ataru) and VI (Niman) as his preferred styles. Though without a connection to the Force, Koren has adapted the seven forms to be useable when under blaster fire by using a combination of jumping, dropping, rolling and zigzagging to avoid being shot.

Koren is also a practitioner of form VII (Juyo), thought he rarely use the form. Due to Koren's level head, he lacks the emotions that are key to use form VII unless he is enraged. Even so, Koren doesn't let his anger cloud his judgment, making him a dangerous person when uses Juyo. He also uses a whip to compensate for his lack of the force, and a retractile forcepike for disabling and capture purposes. Over the year's Koren has expanded his fighting styles to include a few martial arts. These include the Echani martial art and fire dancing, Jeswandi and a few military combat techniques.

Flight Skills

Koren's flight skills is a composition of what he learned at the academy and what his mother taught him. Notable by some, flying is considered one of his strongest skills.

RDI

During his academy day's, Koren at one time spent many hours in the pilot training simulator. After several trial and error tests, Koren perfected a landing maneuver his old friend, Nomi Shen-Jon, called the Revolving Drop In, or RDI. Using the momentum of the flight, Koren can swing a shuttle around to land it backwards. Koren perfected two versions of the RDI, one for landing normally. The other for the need of a quick landing, usually when the shuttle was under fire. It is however, not applicable for every ship. Only ships with the landing capabilities of a shuttle can preform this maneuver successfully. Koren employs this maneuver whenever he fly's a shuttle.

Associates

From the Academy

Koren made many friends from his time at the Tatooine orbital boarding academy. When he left, he was forced to cease all contact with them to ensure his location remained a secret. Despite his situation, Koren keeps a list of where his friends from the Academy are, what their current profession is and where they live so as to keep a protective watch on them.

Alema'Freetaa

Alema'Freetaa is a female Twi'lek who was friends with Koren during his time at the academy. A kind and gently soul, Freetaa helped Koren and his friends in times of trouble. It was Alema who taught Koren how to understand what little he knows about Lekku. After Koren left, she moved to Coruscant to further her education in medicine and now works as a military doctor.

Cal Varik

Cal Varik is a male Mon Calamari who was friends with Koren during his time at the academy. An analytical and thoughtful person, he was known for helping other students with their studies. Both he and Koren were considered among the brightest students in the academy. After Koren left, he moved back to his home on Mon Calamari and attended a military academy, becoming a military tactician and Capital ship pilot.

Inyri Tinto

Inyri Tinto is female Togruta who was friends with Koren during his time at the academy. A quite and shy person, she was not one for making friends and took to the ship simulator for company. Koren was her first friend, and helped her make others during their stay. When Koren left, she was not the same shy girl before she met him. She left for Coruscant to make her living as a Fighter pilot.

Nomi & X'jan Shen-Jon

Nomi Shen-Jon and her brother, X'jan Shen-Jon, were friends with Koren during his time at the academy. The twin pair were not welcomed at the academy when they arrived from their homeworld of Naboo. Having come from the peaceful world, the twins were ridiculed as being "too soft and caring" to make it through the curriculum. But Nomi's feisty nature and X'jan's calm nature attracted Koren to the pair, who he quickly made friends with. When Koren left, they both relocated to Corellia to work as Star ship mechanics.

Satra Varga

Satra Varga is a human female who was friends with Koren during his time at the academy. At first her stuck up, spitfire, and competitive nature put her and Koren at odds. When Koren saved her from a a group of jealous students, their relationship changed into a close friendship. This relationship would later go on to become a romantic relationship, which ended when Koren fled from his father. When Koren left, she relocated to Kuat where she met man named Coren Reyalmid, whom she married and bore a girl to. She would reunite with Koren two years later on Kuat.

Tesla Fry

Tesla Fry is a female Bothan who was friends with Koren during his time at the academy. Her quick thinking and slyness made her a campuses thief with a notorious reputation. Koren caught her stealing one of his books on the Jedi and quickly apprehended her. She was afraid he would turn her in, but he agreed to let her go if she cleaned up her act. She agreed and the two became good friends. She also taught him to fight in the arts of Jeswandi. When Koren left, she relocated to Corsin to work as an Intelligence Officer in the military. She would reunite with Koren two year's later on Bothawui.

Voth Riou

Voth Riou is a Alderaanian male who was friends with Koren during his time at the academy. Level headed and calm with a kind personalty, he became friends with Koren easily. Both being practitioners of the swords, they often made a dazzling display when they dueled. When Koren left, he returned to Alderaan where he studied politics and became an ambassador and diplomat.

From his travels

When Koren left Tatooine he left all he knew behind. In joining the Trade Federation, he was was given the opportunity to make new contacts and friends.

Kyle William

Kyle William is a Human male. He works as a lieutenant in the Kuat security force. Koren met him on Kuat during a pickup run for materials. At this time, Kyle was a corporal working on a case involving a corrupted corporate executive. Koren helped him find evidence that would convict the man. Koren would later return to tell his story to Kyle.

Companions

Koren has formed a crew that composes of many races, mostly those of alien races. Some of his crew he has gathered from unlikely events. From saving their lives, offering them a better living status and having been asked, Koren's crew grows every day.

R4 (Thuka)

R4 is an R2 droid that Koren Salvage from Raxus Prime. His former owner is unknown, who was not fond of droids. He named R4 clanker, after the insult to droids in the war between the Republic and the CIS. Koren didn't take a liking to it and renamed him to Tuka, the Twi'lek word for spirit. But Koren called him R4 because of manufacture mistake on the manufacturing label engraved on the droid, which categorized him as an R4 droid instead of a R2.Though some would call it defect, Koren felt it made him special. Koren patched him up and R4 helped him salvage the Starscape. He has remained with Koren ever since.

Tare Buphi

Tare Buphi is a male Kaminoan from Kamino. Koren met him on a trip to Kamino for a medical supply pickup. During their stay, Tare was selected as the guide for Koren and his crew, which he reluctantly accepted. Koren convinced Tare to take him to an abandoned base that piqued Koren's intrest. The next day, Koren and Tare flew over to the base on Aiwha's to the abandoned base. While there, they were attacked by Varias Win-Dell and forced to retreat. Koren saved Tares life when Varias tried to kill him. The two made it back to the city alive where Tare, interested in seeing both the galaxy and furthering his knowledge of medicine, asked to join Koren's crew. Koren accepted his proposal without hesitation. Tare now works as Koren's chief medical officer.

Til Vaso

Til Vaso is a Chadra-Fan who's birthworld is unknown. It is assumed he was born on the Chadra-Fan homeworld of Chad IV. Til use to work as a junk merchant on Raxus Prime before he left, salvaging anything that was of value. He was friends with Tu'ebb Zhet during his time on Raxus. When Koren salvaged the Starscape, Tu'ebb brought til to Koren, who had a hyperdrive needed to finish the repairs. Til gave him the drive on the condition that Koren was to take him and Tu'ebb with him on his travels. Koren agreed without hesitation, Til then packed his things and left Raxus Prime. He now works with Koren as part of his engineering crew.

Tu'ebb Zhet

Tu'ebb Zhet is a Jawa from Raxus Prime. When he lived on Raxus Prime, Tu'ebb was a a member of a Jawa clan, the Ja'ka. It is unknown how his clan came to be on Raxus Prime, most likely from a migration from Tatooine. Koren met him when he helped Tu'ebb's clan repair their Sandcrawler. During his stay, he and Koren shared stories about their work. Tu'ebb also helped Koren salvage and repair the Starscape and Thuka (R4). He introduced him to Til Vaso while looking for a hyperdrive for the Starscape. Both him and Til made a deal with Koren, Til would give him the hyperdrive he needed to finsh the Starscape, if Koren took both him and Til with him on his travels. Koren agreed without hesitation and, with a farewell to his clan, Tu'ebb left Raxus Prime. He now works with Koren as part of his engineering crew.

Assist

Koren has obtained items and ships that range from the common, everyday used items to the unique items. He is known for buying anything that has a connection to the Jedi, regardless of what it may be.

Starscape

Starscape is a Jedi Ambassador Shuttle that Koren salvaged from Raxus Prime with the help of Tu'ebb, R4, and Til. He has used it for many missions from simple transport purposes to reconnaissance missions of his own nature. Koren employes the use of the RDI (Revolving Drop In) when he flies the Starscape. The name is a combination of the word star with the suffix scape. Which when combined mean, Starview.
