As he grew older it became obvious that something was genetically different. Chaul claimed it was the effects of the ryll which had caused the disfigurement in Sea Bass, but it was clear that everyone knew the truth. Chaul continued his request for drunken behaviour and often dragged Sea Bass through the many cantinas he visited nightly. He worked his way from one drink to another only ensuring that Sea Bass never went hungry for too long. He knew he needed to find a suitable income, but wasn't sure where to start.
