Overview
Designed in conjunction with the Verpine, the Rebel Alliance needed to counteract the pure power of star destroyers combined with improved fighters such as the interceptor and the solution was the B-Wing. This fighter was created with special features that allowed the cockpit to rotate independently of the rest of the ship, helping the pilot to make maneuvers that normally would create too much G-force in a normal fighter and possibly kill the pilot. This same feature also created the problem that only a few pilots were capable enough Carrying concussion missile launchers to deal with larger threats and lasers to deal with fighters it is a mix of fighter and bomber. Fast enough to outrun turrets and slower fighters it is mainly an anti-capital ship bomber that has enough heavy shielding to withstand repeated hits from entire squadrons of fighters. The B-Wing was specifically designed to be a fighter that could enter a full scale battle and take out the key weaponry that was causing the damage without taking more than a scratch. It's main problem was the ridiculously high cost required to produce it.
