Aya Coryntha is a female Twi’lek from the planet of Taris. She was born in Year 2 into a family with ancestral ties to the ancient Tarisians that had lived on the planet before its destruction during the Jedi Civil War. Her parents owned and operated a small droid workshop in the city of Olaris where the Twi’lek household enjoyed a modestly comfortable existence. Over the years, Aya proved to be an intelligent girl with a keen mind, and so she was schooled in politics, diplomacy and finance throughout her childhood and teenage years. Eventually, at the age of twenty-one, Aya was able to leave her family home on Taris behind to forge her own path and destiny in the galaxy.

Biography

Early Life (Year 2 - Year 23)

In the later months of Year 2, Aya Coryntha was born in the city of Olaris on the planet of Taris to a pair of Twi'lek spouses named Daro and Kaynah Coryntha. The two were distant descendants of the ancient Tarisians who had inhabited the planet before its bombardement by the Sith during the conflict that was known as the Jedi Civil War. When the Galactic Republic launched a resettlement initiative of Taris in 3648 BCGT, the Coryntha family was among those who had returned to their old homeworld, and many of its members remained on the planet in the generations that followed. After nearly four millennia, this had resulted in Daro Coryntha inheriting a small droid workshop in the city of Olaris - the original settlement of the Tarisian Resettlement Initiative from 3648 BCGT - which he eventually ran alongside his wife Kaynah, née Sybello, in the years that followed.

As her family was part of the lower tier of the Tarisian middle class, Aya grew up in a humble but loving household. As an only child, she received all of her parents' attention and care while growing up. Despite her the modest nature of her household, Aya was well cared for throughout her childhood and teenage years, and received the means to develop herself in a meaningful manner. Already from an early age it became apparent that Aya was an intelligent individual with a mind that was keen to learn. As such, her parents supported her educational development, although oftentimes at their own expense. Yet, it was Daro's and Kaynah's goal to ensure that their daughter would have a bright future ahead of her, with a broad selection of opportunities on her horizon. As a result, much of Aya's later education was focused on politics, diplomacy and trade, and management, which she finalised within schools of good standing in Tarisian society. Thus, at the age of twenty-one, Aya was gifted passage off Taris by her parents and a modest sum of credits to help her build up her own future within the galaxy.

CIS Career (Year 23 - Present)

After leaving her homeworld of Taris in the final months of Year 23, Aya travelled across a couple of worlds in nearby sectors looking for job opportunities and possible careers options. Eventually, recruiters from the Confederacy of Independent Systems caught her attention, and managed to convince the young Twi'lek to join their ranks.

Personality

Despite having come from modest means, Aya is a self-assured and resolute woman who knows what her worth is, and how to utilise her talents and skills to ensure that worth is made known to others. She rarely settles for the average or just 'good', but instead strives to attain perfection or come as close as possible to it. Half-measures will not satisfy her demanding nature, and she will push both herself and those around her to do better and achieve greater results. Yet, she is not ruthless in this regard, and rather than coerce others to improve she seeks to inspire them to do so for their own betterment and self-improvement, as she fully embraces the values of positive encouragement.

Aya has a charismatic and pleasant disposition, and will often strive to make others feel comfortable around her. While she will not back down until her goal is achieved, or the other party has been persuaded to see the merit of her arguments and viewpoints, she will do so while maintaining cordial relations with those that engage with her. While she is devoted to treating everyone fairly, she will not shy away from mirroring someone's disposition to her or those she cares about, whether that disposition be pleasant or not. Yet, even the most savvy and witty of retorts Aya will deliver with a polite smile and gentle touch.

Unfortunately, Aya's perfectionist and career-focused nature demands much of her available time, which results in a significantly reduced social life. The fact that she masks a more introverted nature deep down further hampers her opportunity to have a wide and vibrant social circle around her or to be heavily involved in one. As a result, Aya is prone to feelings of loneliness and occasional melancholy, which causes her to further devote herself to her work and career to find satisfaction and fulfilment that way.

Appearance

Aya has a blue complexion with smooth skin and a youthful glow. She stands 1.74 meters tall and has a slim, mesomorph physique. Her sapphire blue eyes match her natural carnation and she often wears a light touch of makeup to accentuate the natural lines of her face. She has soft, proportionate, and symmetrical facial features that belie her inner strength and confidence, while the friendly smile that usually rests on her lips is a testament to her innate charisma. Aya has been known to occasionally don a decorative pattern of light green markings running over the length of her lekku, while a traditional Twi'lek tiara which was passed down the generations adorns her head.

Despite her modest upbringing, Aya is known to have a fashionable taste in clothing and dress. She often wears colours that match her blue carnation, with her two favourite colours seemingly being purple and white. Aya also seems to favour long dresses, beautifully crafted robes, and elegant one-piece outfits that accentuate her slim figure. She has an impeccable level of personal hygiene, and will rarely if ever be caught in a dishevelled state of appearance.
