About
Since the dawn of the universe every developing civilization has placed rules and regulations on their citizens. Laws were made to make life safer, for everyone, but also to ensure an empire's well-being. By restricting trade of certain goods and free travel across borders, civilizations discovered a profitable way to establish a large and steady income. But with laws come those willing to defy them. Those trying to get apart of the profit by avoiding regulations, breaking laws, and placing themselves in danger, the ones that specialize in cover transport and avoidance of local authorities were called 'Smugglers'. At every point in history can they be found, first, only dealing between villages and small kingdoms, but as civilizations advanced, so did they. They have worked between states, world-spanning empires, and across the void of space when interplanetary travel had been developed. Smugglers always hacw formed small groups to organize themselves, planning their work together, hence raising profits and enhancing safety for everyone involved. But when hyperspace travel was developed it was time for a large union to emerge that would be able to work across the largest of distances known to man: an entire universe. The very first union to emerge was, and still is called: The Smugglers Alliance. Founded by one of those extraordinary persons who are born to lead and prosper. The alliance grows steadily. From humble beginnings, it has developed into a fully developed organization providing many services to whoever is willing to hire them. They will carry every good you can think of, without asking questions or taking a close look. Everything can be transported, from the smallest trinket and gem, to hand-held rifles, people, and even starships and other materials. Everything can be hidden and moved without drawing attention. The alliances frame draws pilots from every known system. To its ranks, enhancing membership and its potential with every passing hour. By now, many customers have hired the alliances services, and has been rewarded with a well done job and the object of his desires in his possession. And as the alliance begins to spread, to cover even the remotest parts of this galaxy, it also extends its services to satisfy even the most unusual of requests. Everything is portable..For the right price.
History
Not very much is known about the origins of The Smugglers Alliance. It has been said that a man by the name of Hasri Starfire was involved in the founding of this group. It was small and stayed mostly under the radar. Consisting of a few loyal members doing what it took to get by with a few contacts here and there. Hasri was able to make a profitable organization while still keeping the SA hidden in the shadows away from the prying eyes of the powers that would want any business if this kind shut down immediately. The Alliance originally dealt mostly in moving arms for people who didn’t want to be known, smuggling small cargo across vast amount of space far away from prying eyes. As the business grew more, Starfire brought in a trusted pilot who had proven his worth. A Corellian named Tarvonie Northwind worked his way up the ladder of success to become a leading member of the Alliance. Taking on more and more of the leadership as Hasri grew busier with other endeavors, eventually taking up the reins of the Alliance as Hasri became too busy to be able to handle all the coordination that the Alliance needed to maintain its business and safety. Tarvonie stepped up and led the group through difficult times and was able to maintain the business side and make the Alliance profitable for all members once again. The SA was growing once more. Tarvonie was able to bring new recruits and assemble the new management team. Of these recruits Ganner Groundrunner emerged. Ganner quickly excelled through the ranks of the SA and eventually became a member that was valued and acknowledged by all, especially Tarvonie. There have been speculations that with the retirement of Tarvonie, Ganner became the new leader of the Alliance. At the time, other influential positions of the Alliance could be traced to brash pilots Duncan Macleod and the Zabrak Xander Artanax. The Alliance suffered a number of near crippling blows, which started with the death of Tarvonie and the rumored demise of Duncan, before culminating in the Battle of Hoth. Ganner took steps to help the Alliance recover and rebuild to it’s former strength. Once again the organization thrived and enjoyed a period of prosperity, around the same time a mysterious Corellian arrived. To many Alliance member’s surprise he knew more about the group than any average sentient. After talk with Ganner the stranger revealed himself to be Duncan. After an attempt on his life, Duncan has changed his name to Dracon and hidden himself before he braved the galaxy once more and returned to the Alliance. Resuming his former post, Duncan continued with his work as opportunity pulled Ganner away from the Alliance, like many times before. Just as Hasri had been pulled away from his leadership of the Alliance, so was Ganner and so leadership was handed down to Dracon Cor. This brought about an entirely new era for The Smugglers Alliance, one that is considered the Golden Era. This record however, is just bits and pieces of information that have been pieced together from rumors and stories spread by pilots and politicians alike. The reality of this record may someday be considered completely false. However, as of this moment, this is the only record existing that even attempts to chronologically account for the life and history of The Smugglers Alliance. However, one thing that is known for fact: this group must exist, and we believe strongly that these men and women are responsible for it all. One rumor that still remains is that the Smugglers Alliance has secret bases scattered throughout the galaxy, hidden and uncharted.
