Surizal Jakohr is a Force-sensitive human, Grand Moff of The Restored Empire, and a former Commodore from the Galactic Empire. Of average height and build, Jakohr does little to stand out in a crowd. His blondish-brown hair is usually trimmed in a short military cut, his face kept clean-shaven, and his grey-blue eyes are clear and calculating. He has no visible scars or deformities, aside from a cybernetic right arm, and is by all accounts a Galactic-Standard Corellian male. He carries himself with a confidence born of surviving the streets of Corellia, but his expression is one tempered by years spent staring out into the cold black of space.

Biography

Early Life

Jakohr grew up mostly on the streets of Corellia. While his parents weren't, by definition, poor, they were also not quite wealthy enough to send him off for any private education. Instead, Surizal attended public school, where he excelled enough in his studies to attend University, but had insufficient funds to do so. In an effort to pay for his tuition, he took a job at the Corellian Shipyards, working on assembling capital ships. Unfortunately, he was still unable to earn enough to finish his first year of University, and was forced to drop out. Shortly thereafter, motivated by his work in the shipyards and a desire to go off-world, Surizal submitted his recruitment packet to the Galactic Empire.

Family Life

Surizal's father, Taemush Jakohr, served "in the military" before settling down on Corellia with his wife Cyres "when the war was done", and raised Surizal in a strict but not overbearing manner. Neither of his parents spoke much about their lives before Surizal was born, nor what they did during the previous galactic conflict. Taemush was working as a security officer, and Cyres as a nurse in a medical facility, until the alleged Rebel terrorist attacks on the Corellian Shipyards caused debris to fall on their new hab complex, tragically ending their lives. Recovered classified documents show that the attack was actually perpetrated by the Galactic Empire itself, in an effort to foment aggression against the Rebel Alliance, and spur commonality amongst Imperial Officers.

Imperial Service

The Galactic Empire

Upon receiving his commission in mid Year 23, Jakohr finished his training at the Imperial Academy on Prakith and was assigned to the Imperial Navy's 2nd Fleet, in the Ruby Sector. What followed over the next nearly 2 years was nothing short of a meteoric rise through the ranks of the Imperial Military. Performing admirably in all three Taskforces, serving in COMPNOR as an Academy Training Officer and Holonet Quality Control Officer, being one of the first three Taskforce Communications & Training Officers of the modernized Imperial Military under Lord Admiral Hatori Hoorl, Jakohr rose from an Ensign to Commodore in only 11 months. His dedication to the Empire was never questioned, his service never tarnished. He was commended with awards and accolades, praised by his superior officers every step of the way.

But the higher one rises in the ranks, the more one sees that was previously hidden. His command level position in all three Taskforces, and his close working relationship with both the Lord Admiral and his XO, allowed Jakohr a peek behind the curtain, if you will. It exposed him to the narcissism, cronyism, and favoritism that corrupted the highest ranks of the Galactic Empire. Seeing firsthand how "second and third class citizens" were treated, held back from promotion and favorable assignment, even if they were a clearly superior choice for the task at hand, changed something in Jakohr. When the opportunity arose for him to speak out, he was chastised for it, his career opportunities halted. Then, when approached by the Lord Admiral himself with the chance to finally do something, Jakohr took the leap of faith, and committed himself to the Lord Admiral's cause, breaking away after 21 months of loyal service.

The Restored Empire

As one of the founders of The Restored Empire, Jakohr immediately found himself embroiled in galactic politics, the likes of which had eluded him up to this point. It seemed like half the galaxy hated them for existing, a quarter expected them to fail outright within months, and and the rest just assumed it was yet another splinter of the GE, bound to return in no time at all. Two years later, things haven't changed all that much. Most of the galaxy either still hates them or expects them to fail, and the rest just don't care. Or are only focused on a few specific events long past in TRE's history. Either way, Jakohr has led TRE's military since its inception, focused on building carrier strike groups and training the next generation of young Imperial officers.

Shortly after leaving the GE though, Jakohr was force-tested again, and this time was found to be force sensitive, and his ability was awakened. Being dubbed one of the original three Imperial Knights of The Restored Empire, he embarked on a journey of self discovery and connection to the Force, and has trained under multiple other Masters of the Force since then. His abilities were put to the test most recently on Khuiumin, where he engaged in asymmetrical warfare against members of the Shadow Dominion, using his abilities to both heal and purify poisons from himself and his allies on the surface. Only time will tell what comes next for Jakohr, but his faith in the Restored Empire and in the Force will guide his way.
