The new Exchange was founded on Day 26 of Year 9. The principles of trust, integrity, and discipline influenced the development of all aspects of '''the Exchange''', both military and commercial. The Exchange is now a leading provider of full-spectrum military services for governments and corporations in and around the Tapani sector. These services include: personnel training, escort, recon and scanning, logistical solutions, construction, force protection, and government or corporate military solutions.

==History==
The Exchange is an elite paramilitary force with a long and violent history.

In its current form, the Exchange bears little resemblance to the criminal organization of the Old Republic, from which it has evolved. Prior to the rise of the Empire, the criminal element was nearly eliminated in its conflict with the Hutts. The remnants coalesced into small splinter groups such as mercenary bands, bounty hunters, and smugglers. Illegal activity had always operated behind the scenes amidst a broad network of traditional commercial interests, such as mining, production, and transportation. These enterprises continued to exist independently after the collapse of the shadow network that funded their creation.

Unbeknown to most, one band of warriors continued to thrive throughout the years, keeping their numbers small and their affiliation to The Exchange all but forgotten. As they gathered their resources and rebuilt their infrastructure, they survived by taking on small jobs with various other organizations, developing contacts, perfecting their trades, and preparing for their rebirth.
Prior to the rise of the Empire, The Exchange was nearly eliminated during a conflict with the Hutt Cartel. While The Exchange's empire of crime splintered, local Exchange bosses circled their respective wagons and broke off into smaller less influential outfits. Whether as mercenaries, bounty hunters, or smugglers these descendants of the once mighty Exchange would continue on amidst a network of traditional commercial interests after the collapse of the shadow network that originally funded their creation. Unbeknownst to most, one band of mercenaries continued to cherish and romanticize the memory of their once mighty Exchange. ==Ranks==
This new Exchange first entered the public scene on Day 26 of Year 9 when it claimed control of the Woldona system. Deploying the full weight of it's paramilitary forces, they became the sole authority in the Sevetta sector.
The members of The Exchange have decided to abandon a military-like, rigid hierarchy together with the military rank names. Instead they use a few terms that refer to their experience in the organization. As each Mercenary of The Exchange is a unique personality, an individual with their own set skills and talents, a chain of command is explicitly set up for each separate operation. Spoils of war and contract remuneration are divided equally among the operation's participants, regardless of their rank. In addition to those bonuses, there is a monthly salary proportional to each Mercenary's rank and the level of responsibility that goes with it.
The ranks are as follows:

* '''Elite Mercenary''' - A handful of Elite members of The Exchange constitute the Command Group of the organization. One of them, called ''the Compeer'', is chosen to represent the interest of the collective outside, but all the important decisions are made collectively. Each of these people had many-fold proved their courage, skill and loyalty to The Exchange in a number of operations.
No longer an empire of crime, it's ultimately debatable whether or not these men had any concrete links to The Exchange of legend. Regardless, the outfit was already ingratiated into the Woldona system, who's populace reveled in the idea of a phoenix reborn. This spectacle proved persuasive despite the negative reputation for criminality which originally characterized The Exchange. The Exchange's past opposition to Hutt cartels also proved popular with Outer Rim denizens on the border of Hutt Space.

* '''Champion Mercenary''' - Champions are often put in command of Operations and they aid the Elite members in their managerial tasks. They are grizzled veterans, respected by all and truly fearsome on the battlefield.
Unfortunately for men like Mateo Akita, Sotar Loreandel, and Aiden Taan this new Exchange would not be seen into perpetuity, as a new wave of scum and villainy plotted to mantle The Exchange once more.

* '''Veteran Mercenary''' - Only really competent, capable and determined Mercenaries reach this rank in The Exchange. Those who have, had to prove they deserve this honor in many different situations. There's no guidelines or prerequisites that would define how to become a Veteran Merc of The Exchange. These people are hand-picked by the Elite members. They have a number of responsibilities and often hold an important leadership position during an operation. They are able to fight, lead and win in space, as well as on the ground, they continuously work to maintain and improve their tactical and strategical skills.
=Phase 2=

* '''Professional Mercenary''' - Professionals are valued personnel of the Exchange. These people are experienced warriors, have a set of specializations and within their specialization they are one of the beset.

*[[File:TXCHorizontal2.png]]
* '''Seasoned Mercenary''' - A typical Seasoned Merc has smelled the blaster fire and proved their worth on the battlefield. He is pro-active, shows initiative and is on his way to become a key asset for his superiors. Seasoned Mercs that want develop their leadership skills help in training and tutoring the Trainees.

* '''Regular Mercenary''' - The backbone of larger operations, Regular Mercs are people who have proved their value during various training routines, exams and maneuvers. They are dependable, well trained and can easily stand their ground against any regular army, even when outnumbered.

* '''Green Mercenary''' - Green Mercs are warriors that have just graduated from what is in The Exchange called The Forge. They have gone through the basic training routines and proved they are capable of thinking, following orders and... fighting. They usually have not yet participated in a more important operation, but they are ready for it.

* '''Trainee''' - Trainees are raw recruits, fresh cadets that want to become the part of The Exchange. Around one in twenty survives the training, passes the exams and is accepted in the organization.

Mutual profit. Mutual survival.

The Exchange is a band of steely-eyed individuals bound together by a spirit of common advancement. We run in the company of profit minded cut-throats where the credit is king. Reward however does not come without risk, and so we look out for each other as we participate in a variety of operations. Weapons, ships, and opportunity can and will be provided to those that seek them. If you want credits, we want you.

Para-military and commercial services are not currently offered to the public at this time - however - feel free to Darkness Message the current leader with any business proposals you have in mind. All client work is managed through written contracts. The Exchange does not discriminate based on species, home world, or political affiliation (unless it would violate a preexisting contract).

History

Phase I

While the present day Exchange is vaguely descended from the criminal syndicate of the Old Republic era, it is ultimately an altogether different beast.

Gathering their resources and rebuilding their infrastructure, these men survived and perfected their trade.

This new Exchange first entered the public scene on Day 26 of Year 9 when it claimed control of the Woldona system. Deploying the full weight of it's paramilitary forces, they became the sole authority in the Sevetta sector.

Unfortunately for men like Mateo Akita, Sotar Loreandel, and Aiden Taan this new Exchange would not be seen into perpetuity, as a new wave of scum and villainy plotted to mantle The Exchange once more.
