Early Life on Corellia
Jakk Horn Emernet was born in Y -9 Day 177 on the planet of Corellia, in the City of Kor Vella on planet grid 9,4 at 18:59:34. He was born to his father Yaxon Ira Emernet and his mother Lisha Denya Emernet. As one might recognize if they are familiar with note worthy Corellians, his father and mother are respectively a decorated CorSec officer and a famous holovid director and producer. This influenced his early life greatly. Through travel with his mother to on site recordings Jakk had visited over three dozen planets from Shili to Tatooine by the time he was an adult, and grew to appreciate the many different cultures that he encountered. He particularly made friends on the planet of Champala as a young boy and even to this day keeps many of those contacts close. Once a young adult however most of his living was done on Corellia, at least for the first few years. Like his father he joined CorSec as a Junior Officer, but unlike his father who had been part of the law and order divisions of CorSec, Jakk joined the Intelligence Division and gained quite the reputation with his peers and those above him. Jakk learned how to handle almost any blaster, most melee weapons, and even hand to hand combat. Skilled both in combat, and in more covert techniques such as finding hidden data to help legally stop criminal organizations. Jakk made quite the impression on his fellow Corellians before he even became an adult.
The Step into Darkness
He was exactly who he was supposed to be, at least according to his parents. However comments started to be said frequently from others. Things like "You remind me of your Grandfather." or "Fruit doesn't fall far from the tree in your family, just like your Grandpa.". These comments naturally sparked an interest in Jakk to discover more about his Grandfather. His parents had always refused to talk about the reason for the estrangement always insisting that it was for his own good to simply forget about his Grandfather. Jakk had always felt that there was a strange lack of hate, but more fear, whenever he brought up the subject. Through some digging, and help from some of his peers in CorSec Intelligence, Jakk learned that his Grandfather had once fought in the Clone Wars. He found that his Grandfather had been force sensitive and a member of the Jedi Order of that time, and that once the empire rose to power he had gone into hiding instead of turn to serve the Empire.
These inquiries had not gone unnoticed by others on Corellia though, and Jakk soon found himself wanted for questioning by the local garrison of Imperial troops. He was assured that they only wanted to talk but Jakk felt like there was something more about their request. He decided it was time to leave Corellia, or he may never get the chance.
Jakk took what information he had, and left Corellia on his own terms, in search of his Grandfather that by all records was still alive out there somewhere. Jakk would end up finding a young Coruscanti woman by the name of Lara Tinmin on his travels. She was driven and had a goal in life, to make a difference in the galaxy for people that couldn't help themselves. Lara bought a Corona Frigate that was on the local market, and the two worked together to gather a like minded crew. They set off in Y11 to the Outer Rim of the galaxy and started anti-slaving operations. They would go on to be directly responsible for freeing over five thousand souls from the institution and even ran a few operations that crippled half a dozen small time slaver groups. In the beginning of Y14 however they found themselves the victims in an ambush. They had caught the attention of a larger slavery operation, and though they succeeded in damaging the operation, these slavers called in their allies. Eidola. Losing nearly half their own operation in a series of ambushes, and hit and run attacks by the pirates. They were forced to stop their anti-slaver work once enough of their crew decided they were not willing to continue with the present danger. Lara sold the frigate they had in order to get Eidola off their case.
In all this time Jakk had still be trying to find his Grandfather. This became his and Lara's main goal for the next year. They would end up succeeding as well. Jakk found his Grandfather on the Tamra II where he had been operating a small vehicle repair garage. Jakk was instantly welcomed by him and the two got well aquainted. Over the next two years his Grandfather would help Jakk to discover his sensitivity in the force. He also helped him develop his basic skills, though his Grandfather refused to train him fully. He insisted that a vision had shown him Jakk with another Master in the Living Force. One who would help Jakk learn the depth of the powers it held, while also becoming a good friend.
Early Y16 Jakk would leave Tamra II along with Lara who had tagged along the whole while, and set off to find another way in the galaxy. Jakk would end up buying his own Corona-frigate, this one he legally commissioned and had built by the New Republic. Records are unclear, but it may well have been one of the last frigates they produced before their fall.
Jakk frequently stopped in to check on his Grandfather and was present in Y21 when he finally passed away. He left Jakk his garage which Jakk has to this day, as well as the droids that helped to run the business. Many other things, artifacts, were also left to Jakk which he keeps privately owned and safe to this day.
The Searching Swordsman
Jakk spent Y16 to Y20 working as a treasure hunter of sorts. With the appreciation he had developed as a child for other cultures he traveled the galaxy to all sorts of planets, moons, and even a few asteroid fields. There he would find lost, forgotten, hidden, or at times just plain abandoned ruins or sites full of cultural artifacts. He often would be hired by local governments, or corporations, to find these artifacts and return them safely to their cultural origins and/or museums. However, there were on occasions things found that Jakk refused to return. He never kept anything out of a greed, but rather on occasion he would realize those who had hired him were actually asking him to steal things from other cultures. On two occasions he found that the item in question was part of century or more old cultural dispute and who ever had possession of it would be able to shift political pressures on their planet or people. Jakk ended up walking away from these moments, if he left the artifacts in their ancient tombs or they lay hidden in his private vault is a mystery that he simply allows to persist.
On occasion Jakk was allowed to keep some relics that he found, depending on the task at hand he often would bring back any item that looked of value. Some things had no value to the client however, and many of these unclaimed items still remain in Jakk's personal collection to this day.
During this time in his life Jakk became increasingly skilled in using a sword. In particular he used a sword styled vibroblade that he had found in an ancient Jedi temple in the Outer Rim. The weapon was in perfect condition function wise even to this day, though it certainly had an outward appearance that showed its years of use. During this time Jakk started using blasters less and less and mainly used blasters only as a utility tool when something was out of reach or his sword was simply not practical to carry. This translated well once he obtained his lightsaber.
Naboo and the Handmaiden
Late in Y20 Jakk would take a break from treasure hunting. He received a call for assistance from an old friend from CorSec who happened to be living on the planet Naboo, and working for the royal family in Theed. Upon arrival Jakk learned that the royal family and its workers were facing some sort of repeated nuisance from a man. This man constantly showed up to private functions, was found walking down the hallways for the royal palace, and on a handful of occasions had injured guards when they had tried to apprehend him. All this seamed to be in connection with the Queen, and so after a few failed attempts at finding the man the royal court started reaching out to those that might help. Though discretely was their desire.
Jakk was able to begin his investigation and after only a weeks time had his first run in with the criminal. Jakk had approached this man slightly foolishly, underestimating his vigor or skill. The confrontation ended in Jakk being injured quite badly. It ended with him having his left leg amputated from just above the knee down by his own vibroblade which the man, Corran Covdien, also kept. A month went by as Jakk recovered, and the Queen was about to search out another investigator when Jakk was able to finally get back on the job.
Corran had caused quite the trouble, but with continued confrontations Jakk had been able to recognize a pattern. Jakk learned what the man must truly be after. Every one of his encounters were with one particular individual present. One of the Queen's handmaidens named Kelci Takan seamed to be his target, and after repeated interviews with the handmaiden she told of a boy from her childhood who had stalked her, but that she had not seen the boy for many years now. It was concluded, and then proven by the man's own admission, that he was not infact after the queen, but after this handmaiden in some deluded attempt at possession. This admission came upon their first encounter since his injury a month ago. Jakk remembered what his grandfather had taught him and was able to use the force in his confrontation to reclaim his sword and even cause injury, though slight, to Corran.
Jakk would continue to pursue the man after this, and after another months time he was able to raid the man's house, find a secret passage that he had been using to get into the palace, and finally track him down to a small cave system in the hills of Naboo. There they had a final confrontation, where Jakk learned finally that this man was also trained, though poorly, in the force but was using it for darkness. Jakk had been warned about the darker sides of the Living Force by his grandfather, and in the end his training proved to be more than Corran could handle in the end. Jakk was able to bring the man in alive, and eagerly left Naboo once the job was finished. Though he had a new N1 starfighter and a pair of ELG-3As to show for it.
The Living Force that Keeps
After Naboo, Jakk sought out further training in the Force. His encounter had told him he could no longer go without finishing his training. The Jedi Order welcomed him with open arms, and helped find him a Master in the Force by the name of Vir Calder. Though he had no way of confirming this Jakk came to accept that Master Calder was the teacher his grandfather had seen in his vision. Vir has been a patient mentor for Jakk and they have continued to train together even now.
Jakk has also started working towards opening his own business in the galaxy currently in the form of StarSage Studio. An art focused group looking to bring all sorts of customized works from paintings to hand crafted silk bed sheets, StarSage Studios is bringing luxury back to the galaxy.
