Kaloth BattleCruiser

In the days before the Clone Wars, the Kaloth BattleCruiser was the medium grade warship of many a trade franchise. Designed to be one of a few versatile and maneuverable capital cruisers, the Kaloth BattleCruiser is both a heavy escort carrier and an armored border patrol ship. Although unable to confront Star Destroyers head on, the beauty of the Kaloth Cruiser is that a small spearhead of them can encircle and bombard lumbering capital ships with ease, despite not having much actual pulling power themselves. As they are comparatively streamlined they are able to avoid many shots and so they make an excellent armored escort carrier especially when considering the advanced sensor relay made popular by corvettes. As they are weaker than other heavy capital ships they are usually used in battle groups of 3-5 cruisers. Its docking bays often carry one squadron of Razor fighters for fighter defense and occasionally T Wings. Though it can defend easily against corvettes, it is vulnerable if caught on it's own against larger cruisers. With fighters the problems with speed and firepower tends to be remedied making the Kaloth a useful tool.
