A Corellian pilot, trader, gambler, and former pirate, Jax Starblade has made his fare share of allies and enemies, as well as an undisclosed fortune. No longer robbing for credits, Jax now enjoys life as a part time weapons dealer, freelance pilot and Bandit hunter.
The Beginning
Jaxon Calrissian Al’zandar, the only son of Corellian Diplomats Lance and Nia Al’zandar, got his start in life wanting for nothing. He was afforded the finest education, traveled to and from the major systems of the Inner Core, and hobnobbed with Celebrities, Politicians, Activists, and Freedom Fighters alike.
In Y.9 / D.353, Jax set out to meet his own destiny… to carve his own path. His cool demeanor gave no clue as to what an action junkie Jax was. However he was always looking for some kind of grand adventure. This all came to pass when he answered a distress beacon. It lead him to the Orus sector, where upon exiting hyperspace, his small ship met with full system failure. With limited time, and all of his wits, Jax managed to safely crash land near the city of Gok, on the planet Mereranor.
With no ship, no credits, and no idea of what to do next, Jax walked the city until he came to a tavern. There he stayed in a drunken stupor, living only by the generosity, or pity of strangers. Bar fights, and public disturbances, were normal for Jax. It’s a wonder he was never arrested. Over a year of Jax's life is unaccounted for by him. He plunged deep into the seedier side of life, choosing to associate with Ryll dealers, prostitutes, and other dregs of society. He was distraught over loosing everything, and gaining nothing. Drink and drugs became his world.
Eventually, lucid thought started to comeback to Jax. He began physical training in the mountains, near the desert wastelands on the outskirts of the city, and found a job in a speeder shop repairing vehicles. With the credits he earned, Jax was able to buy an old beat up ETA-2 Starfighter, which he began to restore. He would get off that planet at all costs.
One day while returning from his workout, a faint glint of metal, barely hidden in the sand, caught Jax’s eye. Viewing closer, he discovered it was an attaché case. Upon further investigation, he found the case cuffed to a dead courier. With a heavy rock, Jax was able to open the mysterious case to find a DT-12 Blaster, and a Lightsaber; the famed weapon of a Jedi. Totally unexpected, Jax takes his newly found prize, and heads back to his residence. Unknown to Jax, he was followed by the opportunistic thug, and his gang of five, that murdered the courier. Their aim was nothing less than acquiring the Lightsaber for a Black Market sale.
Right in the middle of the busy market place, Jax was confronted. Three obviously novice gangsters rushed in. Jax made quick work of them. Two more attackers lunged. Though they were more skilled than their predecessors, they were still no match for Jax. He saw their moves before they were made. They all ended up bloodied and broken. The leader of the gang managed to get the drop on Jax, and was able to aim his EE-3 Blaster to his back. Though that proved to be a delinquent effort, for Jax spun around like a cyclone, only to find the thug lying in the street, severed in two. In Jax’s hand was the Lightsaber, glowing a brilliant electric-blue. He concealed the weapon, and made his way from public scrutiny. The beings in the market place marveled at what took place. No one around those parts had ever seen a Lightsaber. At best, it was just a myth. In their excitement they began pointing, and shouting, STARBLADE! STARBLADE!, the regional term for the ancient weapon, and now the name bestowed upon Jax.
One individual, that took exceptional notice of Jax’s handiwork, was an old human male. Jinn-Tu Wisslar follow Jax home, and surprise him in his very own living quarters. Turns out Jinn-Tu was a high ranking Jedi Knight before the Clone Wars, but had gone into exile with the rise of the Galactic Empire. He was not sure how the courier came into possession of the Lightsaber, though it did belong to Jinn-Tu. Understanding that their meeting was no coincidence, he took Jax on as a student in the ways of Jedi meditation, and combat, even though Jax was not Force sensitive. To train with, Jax was given a vibrosword, constructed with the rare material Cortosis. The addition of this material allows the weapon to parry even Lightsaber strikes. Jax trained with Jinn-Tu diligently for months. He was also able to fully restore, and customize his ETA-2, which he named RAZOR. Finally the time for Jax to leave that planet had come. Armed with his vibrosword, dubbed the Starblade as well, the DT-12 Blaster, and a new sense of purpose, Jax Starblade once again set off for the stars.
