Darek Zala is currently a Rear Admiral of the Confederacy of Independent Systems' Military.

He is one of two clones of former Imperial Athrun Zala and an unknown Anzat, along with his "brother" Waylon Zala(Deceased.)

Biography

Life as a Test Tube Baby

Made on a space station somewhere on the outer rim, Darek is not too fond of his childhood. It was only about 2 years long, however it was two years of confusion and tests. His primary donor, Athrun Zala, would pay the rare visit during his final months within the Galactic Empire. His other donor, he has no idea on who he is.

The Curious Case of Darek Zala

Unlike most clones, he was not made in some fancy cloning facility. Instead, he was one of the many "failures" in Athrun's attempt to develop an affordable clone. The issue he was coming across was the clones kept dying. One of the biologists decided to try an unapproved experiment. He mixed the DNA of Athrun Zala with an Anzat male.The healing properties of the Anzat DNA was able to keep the clones(Darek and Waylon) stable and alive. However, something unexpected happened. The Anzat DNA showed to be more aggressive than the human DNA. This caused the Anzat traits to become more prominent.

Athrun found out about the two abominations the scientist had made, and wanted them destroyed. However, upon visitation he realized these new beings were still beings and could not bring himself to cause the death of his creations. The two clones were left to live.

Darek and Waylon were taught their basic education in the facility, however the scietists, and Athrun, both knew it was a matter of time until they were to be released onto the galaxy.

During the Derra Virus' spreading throughout the galaxy, Darek fell victim and his DNA changed, his Anzat DNA is still in him, but it is either dead or dormant.

The Rise and Fall of Darek and Waylon

After two years being on a station, they were allowed to leave. They both found a new home in the Confederacy of Independent Systems. After going through the CIS Academy, they found themselves in the CIS Military. Within a month of joining, they were launched to war. The Mondress War was a rather short war. However, the cost of war was still drastic. When they were ordered to evacuate the planet, Waylon never returned. He was never found on the planet. Waylon is presumed to be dead, killed in action.

Zoom forward a half a year, Darek is still kicking and is now a Rear Admiral in the CIS Military. Promoted for his experience and his understanding of military tactics.

I never wore no robe!

After eight months with CIS, Darek left. He ended up in the Jedi Order's Non-Force Sensitive Explorer Corps. He remained there for about 4 months before leaving with a small group. He's now in Tion Hegemony.
