Raffyel Anton Berik, commonly known as Raff Berik, is a Force-sensitive human mercenary, master bounty hunter, and former Imperial officer. He is the founder and commander of the special operations unit Ghost Squadron, a premier bounty hunting and deniable assets team within the neutral Alliance of Mercenary Consortiums (AMC). Berik is also the public face and proprietor of Berik Industries, a corporate entity serving as both a legitimate business front and a logistical arm for his operations.

His career spans service as a Lieutenant Commander in the Galactic Empire, an Executive Officer and Imperial Knight within the splinter Restored Empire, and his current role as a Captain within the Consortium's Mobile Infantry.

Biography

Early Life

Berik was born on the aquatic world of Spira, the elder of two siblings. His family was established in the planet's agricultural sector, specifically the cultivation of meiloruun fruit. Berik's adolescence was characterized by a restless temperament and a reputation for being troublesome. Ultimately, his decision to enlist in the Galactic Empire was influenced less by ideology and more by the perceived social advantages of the Imperial commission; specifically, Berik quite simply realized that the crisp black uniform was a far more effective way to catch the eye of a girl than a farmer’s tunic.

Imperial Service

The Galactic Empire

Upon receiving his commission in late Year 24, Berik was assigned to the Sith Worlds within the Amber Region. He served as a Flight Officer and Flight Captain before attaining the rank of Lieutenant Commander. During his time in the Navy, he was a member of Task Group Gray 683 under the command of Rear Admiral Viv Curtana, participating in Operations Exodus Revised and Vapor Cosine.

His service record also includes administrative roles within COMPNOR’s Ministry of Culture, specifically within the Imperial Gaming Commission and the Imperial News Service (INS).

The Restored Empire

While an officer in the Galactic Empire, Berik was an active participant in the military schism that led to the formation of the Restored Empire (TRE). Upon the faction’s establishment, he was appointed Executive Officer of the Restored Empire's Military (REMIL).

During his tenure, Berik’s Force sensitivity was identified, leading to his induction as an Imperial Knight. He simultaneously held a seat within CORE, the government party of the Restored Empire. Although he eventually vacated his military command (MXO), he remained an active member of both CORE and the Imperial Knights until his official departure from the faction.

Private Sector

Alliance of Mercenary Consortiums

Following his transition to the neutral sectors, Berik joined the Alliance of Mercenary Consortiums (AMC), where he has served for over a year and currently holds the rank of Captain within the Mobilized Infantry.

In addition to his field duties, Berik maintains a direct professional partnership with Max Ameeno Bacca, the Proconsul of the AMC, focused on starship and entity design. Utilizing his technical aptitude for blueprints and schematics, Berik contributes to the development of the Consortium's physical assets. This work in the design sector serves a twofold purpose: it establishes the technical identity of the AMC’s hardware while providing the necessary capital to fund and maintain Ghost Squadron.

As the founder and commander of Ghost Squadron, Berik operates the unit as a premier special operations and bounty hunting team. Supported by the revenue and logistical reach of Berik Industries, the squadron functions as a self-sufficient entity. In leading the unit, Berik applies the specialized tactical tools acquired during his tenure in the Imperial military to ensure the success of high-stakes contracts across the galaxy.
