Tony Alicea is a Force-sensitive human male that was born on the world of Taris. He is well-known for being a Praetorian for the Tion Hegemony.
Early Life
Tony Alicea was born into a middle-class family on the sprawling urban metropolis of Taris. His family lived under the peaceful rule of Tion Hegemony for most of Tony's life, after the Galactic Empire ceded control to the smaller government. His father was a government official for the planet's Bureau of Trade, and his mother was a campaign manager for the government's current Prime Minister. Taris is a proud space-faring world with much of it's history etched into the Hyperspace Lanes of the galaxy, so it was inevitable that Tony would take an interest in the stars. He studied in school to become a navigator for freighters or even larger capital ships.
Taris was a world that was found along the Mandalorian Road Hyperspace route, which led many visitors to come from the world of Mandalore. When Tony was near adulthood, one such ship stopped and attempted to recruit crewmembers for their freighter. While Tion Hegemony frowned upon any who chose to leave with Mandalorians, Tony saw this as his one chance to get off-world. So with reluctant approval from his parents, the young spacer left Taris for a greater life beyond.
Adulthood
Mandalore
It did not take long for Tony to figure out that, life in the spacelanes wasn't all it had been cracked up to be. Within a week of becoming the ship's new navigator, he understood why the last one jumped ship. Mandalorian life was far from the picturesque fairy tales scenes that he grew up idolizing. After a year of serving on their crew, while on a run to pickup a shipment of rudic, the ship was attacked by a small but fierce gang of local pirates that had growing notoriety in the area. Most of their crew fled before the pirates arrived, but Tony was one of the fortunate few that were taken alive when the pirates finally arrived. The band of pirates mutilated his face beyond recognition to make an example out of anyone that crossed them. They set him out in an escape pod towards a near-uninhabited world close to Mandalore. After crash landing on the world, Wayland, Tony was able to find a mining ship that was willing to take him back to Taris after hearing his story. On his trip home, he reflected on the horrors he'd witnessed at the hand of the pirates, and how those in Mandalore fled and left him for dead. When he returned home to Taris, he would find a suitable job, one that would hopefully take him further than the pirate-infested nebulas that surrounded his home.
Tion Hegemony
Upon his return home, Tony was shunned by most of his former friends because of his decision to leave. His family was shocked to see him again so soon, and were horrified to learn what had become of their son. His scar tissue had healed on his face but without immediate access to bacta, the tissue had grown back disfigured and discolored. Despite the backing of his family, he had trouble finding a job. He went to the last place he'd except to find a job, the local government of Tion Hegemony. He became a fighter pilot for the government, the one job where his face could remain concealed. He went through, and graduated from, the Tion Academy at the top of his class. From there, he was deployed to Tion's 2nd Home Defense Fleet where he served as an ace starfighter pilot for many years.
As of late, his interests have shifted from starfighter piloting to starfighter production. Having made a name for himself inside of the cockpit, he hopes to use his knowledge to develop new systems and better means of production for the ships that he has grown so close to.
