Noah was born during the Clan Wars era, but was fortunate enough to be born on Kiffu rather than Kiffex. His true father is unknown, but it was always highly suspected that he was a bastard child of one of the clan's elders. His surrogate father was Noah Hatfield Sr and is where he obtained his name. Noah Hatfield Sr was not a Kiffar, but a Corellian that had close ties to the Vel clan and assisted them by supplying them with tech and medical supplies during the times of war. His mother was Yishanna Savaat a strong willed member of the Vel clan, well known throughout the community. She was also known to have a weakness for those outside of the Kiffar species so the idea of her and Noah Sr. having a child together was believable to some degree, but it was also well known that she had love for one of the clan's leaders around the same time Noah Sr came into her life. The story of Noah Sr being his father was for the best however, as a bastard child of a clan elder would have simply been considered a threat to the lineage currently in play and he would have been eliminated either through assassination or being sent into a suicide mission at the first opportunity as an adolescent. Noah was raised with love and affection from both of his parents, but due to him being considered a half breed he was often viewed as different, and never fully trusted within Clan Vel. Even though his father had assisted the clan in its time of need, he was never considered a clansman and he also profited from the wars. One of the major profits Clan Vel had given the Hatfield family was a 400 acre ranch on the planet within their territory. It was here that Noah was raised, educated, and trained. Something else that had separated him from the rest in his clan was the fact he had access to a full education, civilized manners, and training in martial combat and weaponry far beyond that of the ordinary clansmen warriors within Clan Vel. At a very young age Noah Sr. could tell that his son would have to fight for his place within the clan, and wanted him to be able to do so - but also have the option to leave the planet, should the time come, and be able to prosper where ever he went within the galaxy.

A close friend of Korn Vel was a Corellian arms smuggler by the name of Noah Aedan Hatfield, and it was agreed that both Tiarn and his mother would be taken away from Kiffu under the cover of being Noah's wife and child. As such Tiarn was renamed to Noah Aedan Hatfield Jr.and his mother to Yashana Hatfield. Before taking Tiarn however Korn was given the honor of giving his son the Qukuuf of Clan Vel, on the inside of his bottom lip hidden from the vast public but there for his son to discover and ask about when of appropriate age. By the time Tiarn was 1 year old he was taken away from his home to be raised for a different life.

For the first several years of his life it was easy to convince others that Noah Jr was a Corellian but as he grew older it became more challenging to convince the local populace that he was not a full blooded Kiffar. He had a natural desire to be within nature, and was far more athletic than the other children that surrounded him. He was sent home from school several times for climbing atop the buildings for a better view of the city - if only to just leave the school and venture off into a park studying the flora and fauna there. Yashana and Noah Sr. knew it would only be a matter of time before the boy began to notice his own differences, and began to question about them. They did their best to play it off until then.
 
Around the age of seven Noah noticed the qukuuf on the inside of his lip, and ask his father about it. Noah had no idea how to answer, and instead sent him to his mother for answers. The answer she gave to him was more than he could understand at his age, but he did his best to comprehend what she had to tell him. She explained to him that he was born the son of a leader in the Kiffu Clan Vel, that he was a full blooded Kiffar like herself, and that he was taken away from that life to avoid war and certain death. Despite her explanation of the violence on Kiffu it peaked the boys interest and he frequently asked about life back at home. His mother was very silent on the subject and was quite worried about Noah's interest in the subject of home. Her greatest fears would come true only a few years later.
 
At the age of eleven Noah had grown tired of learning about Kiffu and Kiffex on datapads and library articles. He wanted to see the world with his own eyes, he wanted to meet his people, he wanted to know his true father's face and stand by his side as a member of the clan. The opportunity to do so came to Noah when his step-father was secretly headed to Kiffu to deliver arms and medical supplies to Clan Vel. The young boy learned of the voyage by spying on his parents conversation one night, and it was then and there he decided if he was ever going to escape the false life that had been thrown to him he would have to stow away on Noah Sr's freighter. On a late night the smuggler Noah Sr. had prepped the Dragon's Bane, a YT-1300, for flight and said his goodbyes to Yashana. Both believed that Noah Jr was in bed asleep but the boy had slipped into the freighter and hid in one of the smuggling compartments within a crate of armor.

Despite having a superior training, a greater mind, and it being a public secret that he was of pure blood and not half, Noah was never accepted into the Clan's military forces and was forever barred from being able to join any form of the council's guardian forces. But this did not mean that Clan Vel did not use him to benefit their progress in the wars. By the time Noah was 12 he was more than capable of taking another man, or woman's, life. The clan saw his determination to serve and decided he should serve the way he lived.. as a secret. The clan had an ancient circle of elite agents known as the Choir of Silence that had long been disbanded due to its lack of funding and use for such a group. But with Clan Vel being on the rise in victory and the war claiming so many lives on all sides in more than dishonorable fashions, they decided to give Noah Jr. a chance to serve. They branded him with the mark and dubbed him a Silencer for the clan. Those that would speak and act against the clan and its allies would need to have their tongues and hands removed. Those who would spy and run the errands against the clan and its allies would need to be blinded and have their feet removed. Political leaders, spies, assassins, saboteur and more. They were all targets that Noah would face. "Nothing is sacred, all is permitted, there is no dishonor in ending the lives of the dishonored." were the binding words given to Noah upon his appointment to the position. Should he be successful in the tasks ahead of him he would be granted permission to develop the Choir with whatever he needed of the clans resources to do so.
