The Mandroxan Syndicate was an item manufacturing company that specializes in weaponry. They would be among the first weapon dealers to arrive in the Derra system after the outbreak of the Great Animosity Plague.
History
The Mandroxan Syndicate first appeared in the Year 13, around Day 232, although rumour has it that the sentients who started it had long been friends, and had been selling weapons to anybody that could scrape enough credits together for a purchase. How they acquired a legal weapons licence is anyone’s guess, but with the decline of the ryll market and sentients becoming more and more paranoid, legitimate sales of weapons and items seemed to be the logical step for these unorthodox businessmen.
Looking for a central base of operations, they set up in the Morath Nebula. Slowly carving a niche for themselves in weapons design and production, the syndicate aimed to supply both large governments and the discerning individual with ‘ready to fire’ weapons. Despite the transition to legitimate business many rumours persist about the Syndicate. Whispers of competitors in their territory going missing and known rivals of the group turning up dead are widespread.
Law enforcement groups all agree that the Mandroxan Syndicate is for the most part a criminal organization, although no solid evidence has been forthcoming to substantiate these baseless accusations. Despite all these hurdles they have avoided criminal prosecution, due mainly to their close family-like work environment, and to their discrete supply of ryll to government officials to a lesser degree.
After the untimely death of its most notorious leader, Azalus Outmian, the syndicate fell into decline, until finally it was merged with another organization.
