'''Azarin Isard''' was a very young Wookiee of unknown origin whose career has spanned several organizations. Like all Wookiees he is unable to speak [[Basic]], and so to interact with the wider galaxy he is escorted by a modified [[BD-3000]] protocol droid named "Tink". The modification created by Azarin was to give Tink a secondary voice distinct from her own, to make it clear when she was translating. This other voice is Azarin's best attempt to make a clear voice which is easy to understand, yet still sounds largely similar to how a Wookiee would sound if their vocal cords allowed them to pronounce basic.


During the [[Metamorphosis Plague]] caused by the Derra Virus, Azarin Isard became an Anzati. Some theorise this change was caused by his proximity to Anzati on a daily basis by this has not been confirmed. His hair continued to be bright reddy brown, like his fur was and he continued to have issues with his right eye which led to him opting to wear a monocle. He also underwent a successful cybernetic operation which replaced his arms with enhanced cyborg alternatives.


== The Beginning ==

Azarin knows little of his past. He was found left for dead on Kashyyyk by Sheng Ji-Yang of Cloud City and Blue Saber Transport while on a routine mission. His only identifier was the numbers "1179416" tattooed across his neck and body. He presumes he was drugged and captured by slavers, and discarded for some unknown reason. Sheng took Azarin back to Kuat, where he began his mining career.
 
During this time he discovered a badly damaged and discarded BD-3000 droid. Azarin rebuilt her, and named her "Tink". Her body is completely silver, yet with green eyes and brown hair, and contains vast amounts of modifications and original programming. Azarin has developed a strange symbiotic dependency with this droid, she is one of his closest friends and acts as his translator. It is not known for Azarin to go anywhere without her. One of the numerous additions Azarin has made to this droid was the addition of an alternate voice, which he decided sounded most like he would if he could speak basic, and she uses this when translating for her master.


Shortly into his service here a young H`nemthe named Oilios Katastrefor approached him with some shocking news and an escape route. The Galactic Empire had recently conducted genocide upon the planet of Kashyyyk, leaving death and destruction in their wake. Their occupation was short lived but the damage left a long lasting scar on the planet. Azarin's emotions were confused. He was flooded with an unfounded guilt, along with a burning desire to rectify the damage as best he could. Trapped in the Kuat system with Imperial patrols surrounding him he hot wired the YT-1210 he was in, and jumped to hyperspace toward Hutt Space. While en-route, Cloud City personnel remotely accessed the ships mainframe and locked Azarin out of the controls. He was powerless to do anything more than sit back and wait. The following days were stressful. Azarin had no idea if Oilios would be waiting, or if Imperial Security would apprehend him first. Yet Oilios came through, rescued Azarin, and took him to the Y-Wing BTL-A4 Longprobe "Wookiee Freedom".
Little is known about Azarin's early life. He was found at the age of 18 on [[Kashyyyk]] by [[Sheng-ji Yang]]. After a short time with [[Cloud City and Blue Sabre Transport]], the [[Galactic Empire]] committed genocide of Wookiees on Kashyyyk. [[Oilios Katastrefor]] convinced him to defect to the [[Rebel Alliance]] in order to work for [[Republic Mining Corporation]].


Azarin had a short stint as a freelancer, carrying out a few various transportation tasks in the J-type 322 Starship "Jenny Hanniver". During this time he also traded small vehicles including T-16s, and became a proficient stock trader specialising in creating stock portfolios for others. Yet the life of a trader was not for Azarin. Credits did not motivate him. At best they are means to an end, and without a goal it seemed futile. After confiding this to Oilios, he was offered a job at Republic Mining Corporation. His life as a Rebel had began.
During his time as a Rebel he worked along side others including [[Jake Azzameen]], [[Alph Virphen]], [[Mandor Bg]], [[Nim Orlan]], and [[Kit Lorcan]]. These connections lead to a promotion to the leadership of a small information network known as the [[Shadowbane Syndicate]]. He was also a civilian assistant on operations Forging Freedom and Stratacator working to held successfully liberate numerous planets from [[The 12 Colonies]], including his home planet of Kashyyyk.
Rebellion


Azarin had never considered the Rebellion as a viable career option. He always presumed independence would suit his lifestyle much better than any resistance movement. Yet Azarin was greeted by the Rebellion with love and acceptance. This new feeling filled him with pride and a desire to do everything he can to help others to have the life he had now been given. His first Commanding Officer was Jake Azzameen, who took him under his wing, was patient with Azarin despite his lack of experience, and helped nurture him into the officer he is today.
When the Rebel Alliance merged with SoroSuub Corporation to make the New Republic, Azarin took a stand against what he claimed was the selling out of Rebel ideals for profit. Most notably, he resisted against dealing with high profile thief [[Adam A Flynn]]'s attempt to sell the Black Sun trading company to notorious thief [[Teniel Djo]]. This would scupper the Senate's plans to legitimise Black Sun, removing it's criminal heritage and reform it into a company known as "Republic Trading". Alongside others mostly veterans from the Rebel Alliance, they resisted the changes, but the cost was high. [[Ingo R. Vailis]] and Adam A Flynn lead what was to be later known as "The Coup", where they stole much restricted technology, killed many including Nim Orlan, and ultimately took Black Sun, choosing to return to its criminal roots.


Before long Azarin was the director of Prospecting, with operations stretching from the Outer Rim F-4, Ottega, Calaron, Sern, and even to the Corellian sector. Azarin lead his department of roughly twelve officers by example, spending vast amounts of time at the forefront of prospecting endeavours. His expertise in computers allowed him to find a great many deposits all over the galaxy, and this small part sufficiently helped his new found love, the Rebel Alliance. However it was not always plain sailing. Two friends of Azarin's, Zonk Garnet and his wife Melena Havelock, set course for the nearest sun and committed suicide together. The reason is still unknown. They were the first and only officers Azarin ever lost while under his service and it cut him deep.
As a result of one assignment performed for High Ambassador Jake Azzameen he was awarded the Leadership Award for "dedication and contribution to the advancement of the New Republic".


Azarin received some temporary prospectors from Kerdos Corporation, named Alph Virphen and Mandor Bg. Little did he know how influential these two men would be. They made a recommendation to Nim Orlan, and shortly after Azarin was thrust into the underworld as he took up the throne of Lord Shadowbane of the Shadowbane Syndicate. To the public Azarin was now at the centre of a web of informants, leaks, and agents. He was little known to the public, and so few saw through this act. In actuality, Azarin was running a small band of Rebel officers while given his first chance to prove himself. Azarin moved away from his mining past, and began viewing himself as an intelligence agent.
[[Kit Lorcan]] proposed an opportunity to lead a fledgeling Mercenary outfit for [[Almar Zamasee]], and together they formed the [[Talost Nightwatch]]. They immediately became a Private Sector Affiliate of the New Republic.


Azarin was also invited to the little known private community #BVZ01. It is here he met several new friends, such as Kit Lorcan, Azzi Blackgate, and Bleyse Windwhisper, as well as the old ones Alph Virphen and Mandor Bg.
Around this time he was also unanimously elected to be Governor of the Kashyyyk system, where he increased security and improved the previously war torn and oppressed economies of all planets under his guidance.


About this point the remaining details of the merger between the Rebel Alliance and SoroSuub Corporation were being finalised, and it passed easily. Azarin made new friends and contacts, such as Thrass Karr`das, Azriel Pitot, Elubei Mont`arne, Gavin Kaos and Nat Dues. Yet it was not all good, and Azarin found himself at odds with Adam A Flynn about numerous controversial topics, and made some very powerful enemies.
These events all sought to increase Azarin's popularity with the general populace, most notably among the former Rebels and the younger Republic officers, and he was elected to the New Republic Senate's fifth session by the second largest number of votes received by any candidate up until that point.
Liberation of Sumitra


Despite his non-military background, Azarin was contracted by Alph to aid the New Republic in liberating various planets in the Sumitra sector. This was a part of the Operations Forging Freedom and Stratacator. The Imperial puppet state The Twelve Colonies was terrorising various planets within the system, and was allowing the Sith Samus Augil to murder many innocent civilians. He flew the Action VI Transport "ATS Star Dawn", constructed numerous small outposts, and prospected Kashyyyk almost single handedly for invaluable materials needed to fuel the war effort. Azarin was the only Wookiee officer to serve on the operation, which is a badge of honour he wears proudly.
The Talost Nightwatch was involved in numerous operations with various [[Galactic Alliance]] governments, and at one point or another during his time he held security authorisation for the New Republic, [[Falleen Federation]], [[Tresario Star Kingdom]], [[The Antarian Rangers]], the [[Corporate Sector Authority]], and the [[Anzatan Commonwealth]]. He was known to boast that no other held such wide authority, and claimed it was due to his tight control of operations. The Nightwatch were often fighting alongside allies, without payment. One notable example was to help the Corporate Sector Authority successfully defend territory against Black Sun, where he himself came within minutes of apprehending [[Magnus Plaga]], who taunted him over his close call. This rivalry grew into mutual respect, and even friendship once Magnus later chose to repent his criminal ways and instead oppose the Family who betrayed him.


Despite his trivial role in these operations, they fuelled his imagination. Azarin began thinking of bigger and better things, and even to planning his own operations. He learnt from how Alph so expertly stirred his troops and coordinated their movements. The techniques he used were nothing short of masterful, and this inspired Azarin to make his mentor proud. Alph even was the architect of the plan which lead to the arrest of the Sith Samus Augil.
Azarin Isard personally wrote the death warrant on tyrant [[Wilhelm von Ismay]], wanted by the [[New Republic]], [[Galactic Alliance]], and [[Jedi Order]] for various crimes including theft, murder, and war crimes. Although it was unfortunate he could not be captured alive, the removal of such a dangerous criminal was widely appreciated and no charges were filed against Azarin by the New Republic or any Government.


Unfortunately for Azarin, Alph did not believe Samus was safe enough, so proceeded to enact a plot to murder him while in custody. The trial was long and hard for Azarin, but in the process he lost a friend and mentor. Alph's incarceration sapped his will, he served his time he disappeared from all contact. Azarin never heard from Alph again.
Unfortunately due to personal differences Azarin later resigned from work under Almar Zamasee along with some loyal officers. He made proposals to the New Republic, but they were not willing to offer his relatively unknown officers such lucrative opportunities, requiring them all to start again as New Republic Cadets. Rather than see them demoted, he made arrangements for them to join the Anzatan Commonwealth, where the less bureaucratic structure allowed them to each be offered roles at least as high as their current rank, including directorships of nationalised organisations.
DLD Enterprises


Rekka Deott invited Azarin into a small group of traders known as "DLD". The other partners were Hanz Lightbringer and Kurva Darksword. Together they pooled funds and contracted private builders to build on the planet Orokhar. This resulted in diplomatic issues, and the Corporate Sector Authority demanded the sale of the planet. DLD complied, and instead moved on to Anargoloth and Orogost. Due to personal differences DLD split up, Azarin purchased Anargoloth from the rest of DLD, and they parted ways.
Azarin has worked within all of the Commonwealth's corporations. Although at first refusing promotion over fears people would feel he is "taking over", he eventually agreed to become the Minister of Commerce, and later, Treasurer and Third in Command.




== Restoration Day ==

On Year 13 Day 224 Azarin was kidnapped by [[Cydnee Stultz]]. Cydnee would then demand a billion credits in ransom. The ransom would be paid in half by Azarin and then in half by [[Keishi Miahr]]. Cydnee was able to kidnap him when Azarin boarded a ship she owned. On the first celebration of the merger between the Rebel Alliance and SoroSuub Corporation, which is commonly known as Restoration Day and celebrated on the 336th day of every year, Azarin Isard received a set of Camouflage Scout Armour to which he applied a rather unique set of modifications to.


Azarin sacrificed the jungle camouflage design for a design more suitable for tundra combat. The visor is designed to combat snow blindness, as well as other retina damage caused from exceptionally bright lights. This also had the benefit of helping Azarin while fighting inside most ships, as many captains chose to decorate the interiors of their ships a bright white. This is a rather dashing set of armour, which sets Azarin apart from the crowd at functions such as operation briefings.
==Anzatan Commonwealth==


It was around this time Azarin met Keishi Miahr, as she became engaged to marry his friend Kit Lorcan. Their friendship blossomed and she became his closest friend.
Shortly after his safe return Queen Keishi Miahr chose to step down as leader and promoted Azarin to the rank of Chancellor and Leader of the Anzatan Commonwealth. Under his leadership the Anzatan Commonwealth had founded [[Anzatan Medical]] and purchased the [[Corellian Merchants Guild]] and [[Ord Wurkz]] merging both items factions under the former. He also oversaw the Anzatan Commonwealth's entry to the [[Imperial Union]] and the successful colonisation of the planet Boonta II.

The Chief of State, Ingo R. Vailis, appointed Adam A Flynn to an "Advisor" position, which did not exist up until this point and acted as an illegal second in command. Azarin protested, as the known criminal Adam A Flynn was assured to be long gone. Azarin objected to someone who has been known to steal vast amounts from governments being entrusted with the ability to steal restricted technology from the New Republic. Around this time Adam attempted to force Rekka Deott to apologise for controversial comments, or suffer a demotion. As an act of rebellion Azarin offered Rekka a promotion and a job in the Shadowbane Syndicate, where he took up the task of Director of Logistics.
 
However, the spark which ignited the series of events commonly referred to as "The Coup" was the discussion regarding the sale of the trading company, "Black Sun". Azarin Isard was one who strongly blocked the sale of the company, which was in the process of being redeemed, to the pirate Queen, Teniel Djo, where as Adam A Flynn and his cronies were in favour of it. This debate spiralled out of control and became a heated argument, yet Eli Greenberg was still allowed to join Black Sun and view the assets. During this process the legitimate trading organisation "Republic Trading" was ousted from their home. Azarin opened the doors of the Shadowbane Syndicate, and allowed both factions to run out of the same organisation simultaneously.
 
Meanwhile, Amun Sokar abused his CEO position in Republic Mining Corporation, stealing everything which wasn't protected. This resulted in the faction being declared bankrupt, and the Sith Max Powers escaped. During this difficult time many planets Azarin had spent his career developing had fallen into Imperial hands. Azarin offered his services to the defence efforts, but it was turned down. Fortunately after a lengthy hard-fought campaign, the New Republic managed to repel the Imperial assault.
 
The New Republic was falling into chaos, and the Chief of State was not carrying out his duties. Ingo R. Vailis failed a Vote of No Confidence, but before he could be removed he initiated a brief Coup D'état. With the help of Dracul Elensar, Sergei Korolev, Aiden Taan, Adam A Flynn, and Beauba Fettt they seized the New Republic, stole numerous assets, and began a streak of many arrests and murders before retreating to the criminal organisation "Black Sun". The fatalities included Azarin's friends Nim Orlan, Bleyse Windwhisper, David Kellar and Wes Ugon, not to mention other comrades and acquaintances who were also lost.
 
 
== The Talost Nightwatch ==
 
 
Near the end of Year 8, Azarin was looking for a career change. He had seen too much of his hard work destroyed by dishonourable traitors, and had lost too many friends. He wanted to retreat to somewhere where he could control the security of those he cared about, while upholding his key beliefs. He was also stifled by the lack of creative freedom, resources, assignments or anything else to try his hand at with the Shadowbane Syndicate, and his old friend Kit Lorcan mentioned Almar Zamasee was looking for a leader for his new mercenary group. Azarin considered the opportunity, and accepted.
 
Initially, David Kellar's son, Ben Kellar, was chalked down for the Executive Officer position, yet he retired from the public spotlight and sank into obscurity. What Azarin was left with was a modest selection of territory, an impressive array of military grade technology, and not much else.
 
Azarin began forging connections, recruiting comrades, and planning operations. Initial tasks included "Operation Loony", a routine patrol operation in which the New Republic to judge the Talost Nightwatch's efficiency. Azarin's insight, attention to detail, and reliability was invaluable, and resulted in a highly successful operation which lead on to further operations in the future.
 
Around Y9D300 Azarin's request for a substantial loan from the New Republic was passed unanimously by the Senate (obviously with Azarin himself abstaining due to a conflict of interests), and the "Talost Engineering Corps" was born. Known as "TECs" for short, they are Azarin's brain child. They construct and run numerous shipyards with the aim of producing bulk freighters and other such ships.
 
 
== Governorship of the Kashyyyk System ==
 
 
Azarin's mind was flooded with ideas. So much good he could potentially do, yet he did not know where to start. Then it struck him. Alph had once said he intended for Azarin to govern the Kashyyyk system. In honour of his old master Azarin set about planning. His application was accepted, and before long the system sparked with life yet again.
 
Azarin took the helm of the Bulk Freighter "Fenchurch", while he was supported by the Bulk Freighter "Lorwyn". Prospecting teams scoured the system for potential build sites. Other officers began reconnaissance, giving Azarin the information he needed to plan the work he intended for the system. Thanks to Azarin's governorship millions of sentients have begun returning to the system. Security is being established, and order is being restored. Thousands upon thousands of tonnes of raw materials have been imported, extracted, and passed on to affiliates. Azarin spends a great many hours working on plans, organising records, and watching his plans evolve into vast sprawling economic developments.
 
Azarin met several new friends through his governorship, including the Wookiees Krista Treetender and Gravnkev Forestwanderer. Together they created a small band of Wookiees who socialise on a regular basis.
 
 
== Senator Isard ==
 
 
Despite a rocky start, Azarin quickly became friends with Owen von Ismay, and it was Owen who managed to talk Azarin into entering the world of politics. Azarin refused to consider politics, choosing instead to lobby current Senators, yet Owen's persistent advice and reassurance made Azarin reconsider.
 
After a heated campaign, Azarin received 51 votes, second only to Aeternal Conclave who received 53. This shocked Azarin, as he believed he had sacrificed popularity in the past opposing popular people to do the right thing. During his short time so far as a Senator, Azarin has written numerous bills and amendments. Notable ones include a large revision of the Criminal Code, Amendments to the Governors Act, the initial draft of the Etiquette Bill, the Criminal Organisations Bill, and the Restricted Facilities Act.
 
 
== New Republic Gala ==
 
 
Azarin was invited by Kassandra Dasiva to be co-host of the New Republic Gala (Y10 D12) on Sullust along with the Sullustian Bara Fur. The hosts both greeted guests through out the night, keeping them informed, and ensuring the party continued without a hitch.
 
Azarin arrived in Sullust, with Jacky Faber and his BD-3000 "Tink", piloting the Talost Nightwatch Carrack/S-class Light Cruiser "Isard". Azarin was initially wearing royal armour with a cloak. The cloak had the insignias of the New Republic and the Talost Nightwatch on each breast. Jacky wore a red and black ball gown for the entire night. After the reception and announcement of the New Republic's capital, Azarin and Jacky returned to their room for Azarin to change into his suit for the dinner and ball.
 
He wore a suit which fit tightly around his Wookiee frame, but looked stylish none the less. Azarin continued to address the crowds through the night, keeping them informed, and ensuring the gala followed the evening's schedule. The event went without a hitch, and the party after was long remembered by all involved.

Around this time he was also unanimously elected to be Governor of the Kashyyyk system, where he increased security and improved the previously war torn and oppressed economies of all planets under his guidance.

These events all sought to increase Azarin's popularity with the general populace, most notably among the former Rebels and the younger Republic officers, and he was elected to the New Republic Senate's fifth session by the second largest number of votes received by any candidate up until that point.

The Talost Nightwatch was involved in numerous operations with various Galactic Alliance governments, and at one point or another during his time he held security authorisation for the New Republic, Falleen Federation, Tresario Star Kingdom, The Antarian Rangers, the Corporate Sector Authority, and the Anzatan Commonwealth. He was known to boast that no other held such wide authority, and claimed it was due to his tight control of operations. The Nightwatch were often fighting alongside allies, without payment. One notable example was to help the Corporate Sector Authority successfully defend territory against Black Sun, where he himself came within minutes of apprehending Magnus Plaga, who taunted him over his close call. This rivalry grew into mutual respect, and even friendship once Magnus later chose to repent his criminal ways and instead oppose the Family who betrayed him.

Azarin Isard personally wrote the death warrant on tyrant Wilhelm von Ismay, wanted by the New Republic, Galactic Alliance, and Jedi Order for various crimes including theft, murder, and war crimes. Although it was unfortunate he could not be captured alive, the removal of such a dangerous criminal was widely appreciated and no charges were filed against Azarin by the New Republic or any Government.

Unfortunately due to personal differences Azarin later resigned from work under Almar Zamasee along with some loyal officers. He made proposals to the New Republic, but they were not willing to offer his relatively unknown officers such lucrative opportunities, requiring them all to start again as New Republic Cadets. Rather than see them demoted, he made arrangements for them to join the Anzatan Commonwealth, where the less bureaucratic structure allowed them to each be offered roles at least as high as their current rank, including directorships of nationalised organisations.

Azarin has worked within all of the Commonwealth's corporations. Although at first refusing promotion over fears people would feel he is "taking over", he eventually agreed to become the Minister of Commerce, and later, Treasurer and Third in Command.


Kidnapped

On Year 13 Day 224 Azarin was kidnapped by Cydnee Stultz. Cydnee would then demand a billion credits in ransom. The ransom would be paid in half by Azarin and then in half by Keishi Miahr. Cydnee was able to kidnap him when Azarin boarded a ship she owned. Cyndee sold Azarin to The Veragi Consortium for 2 billion as well.[1]


Anzatan Commonwealth

Shortly after his safe return Queen Keishi Miahr chose to step down as leader and promoted Azarin to the rank of Chancellor and Leader of the Anzatan Commonwealth. Under his leadership the Anzatan Commonwealth had founded Anzatan Medical and purchased the Corellian Merchants Guild and Ord Wurkz merging both items factions under the former. He also oversaw the Anzatan Commonwealth's entry to the Imperial Union and the successful colonisation of the planet Boonta II.
