Livintius Var was a Falleen sufferer of the Metamorphosis Plague, forcing him to endure the pain of genetic reaffirmation, changing him from a regular Falleen construct to one of a deformed nature. While a skilled fighter and religious being, he suffered from a long period of distress due to a mission that caused not only a personal loss, but a great sacrifice. Spending most of his early years taking various criminal assignments throughout the Falleen system, he would thrive on assassination and blackmail to fill his days, building a reputation that made him feared by his targets, and hunted by his enemies and law enforcement officers. Through marriage and the loss of his wife, he learned to embrace the ideals of his parents, embracing religion and its wisdom to turn himself from a callous murder into a being of purpose. While previously never being affiliated to anyone or anything, he finally sought to serve another, a rebellious Kuati, Tex Navos, who he served without question until his death at her defence.

Commencement

The Roulette of Life

Born aboard a modified Tartan Patrol Cruiser on the outskirts of Monor III in Falleen space, Livintius was welcomed to the galaxy by his parents Zurros and Var. Members of the Falleen clan Kthran, they stripped themselves of their birth names and adopted the assigned clan handle, an honour they failed to bestow on Livintius. For the first five years of his life Livintius remained onboard the modified Tartan Patrol Cruiser, Yar'borouh, named after his parents' title within the Falleen clan, restricted to the main living quarters and several small other rooms. Forbidden from idle wandering and exploration, Livintius quickly learned that dishonesty and disobeying a request would lead to the harshest of punishments, giving him a keen understanding about the benefits of following orders. Highly obedient and following orders without question, he was being moulded into a soldier, one of an unquestionable nature, someone who could be the best in the galaxy. At the age of seven he was introduced to the art of swordplay and the use of a rifle. While the benefits of a blade where quickly apparent to him, given the elegant nature of the flourish and the close proximity to ones target, Livintius quickly understood that a long range weapon was his niche. Rather than a regular training regiment of a shooting range, Livintius was introduced to moving targets initially, with a X-45 Sniper Rifle. His father would open the main hatch of the Yar'borouh while his mother flew evasive manoeuvres. Targets would be painted at the furthest distance the rifle could take, with a painful punishment awaiting if the target was missed by Livintius. While the initial pain was excruciating, the task allowed him to build up a strong threshold for pain, a resilience tot he suffering, while his accuracy and understanding of a rifle grew with each small success.

As the years began to pass, his parents tasked more challenging assignments. While they had resigned their commissions with the Falleen Federation government and become mercenaries for local crime lords and bounty hunters, they had every intention of introducing Livintius to the same fate. His first assignment tasked by his parents was the assassination of local merchant on the asteroid RK-794-166 within the Linuri system. A secluded home buried deep within the asteroid, only inhabited by the target and his wife presented a unique challenge for his first assignment.

The Yar'borouh, a modified Tartan Patrol Cruiser in orbit of Falleen I.

Using the outer Asteroids as cover, he was able to pilot his ETA-2 Actis-class Light Interceptor without engaging security protocols land on the outskirts. Trekking to an appropriate location through the use of a black, Vacuum Survival Suit, Livintius lay for a number of hours in the prone position, awaiting his target to appear. As the target arose from his bed, Livintius immediately affixed his sight, before he squeezed the trigger of his X-45 Sniper Rifle, landing a blaster bolt between the eyes of the unsuspecting merchant from over three kilometres away, While the cries of the merchants were visible through the scope of the rifle, Livintius walked back to his ETA-2 Actis-class Light Interceptor and returned to his parents aboard the Yar'borouh, relaying the success of his assignment.

Having passed the test assigned by his parents, they bestowed on him their praise, before explaining that their time together had reached an end. Just like their parents before them, Zurros and Var would abandon Livintius to establish a life for himself, outside of their shadow. Gifting him the Yar'borouh, they departed the ship aboard a personal Tri-Mark VII Interceptor, leaving him with a number of weapons and contacts for employment. Standing in the cockpit of the grand ship, the lone seventeen year old wondered where to begin his life. In contact with various criminal organisations, Livintius took various assignments throughout the Doldur sector, ranging from assassination, espionage and blackmail. Not understanding or wanting an honest lifestyle, he continued to follow the sample of his parents, taking assignments and completing them without question, regardless of the targets circumstances. Each assignment grew in size and complexity. Some were individual targets in remote areas, others where multiple targets or organisations. As his reputation for success made its way around Falleen space, his criminal dossier began to draw the eye of the authorities. While they targeted the criminal enterprises as a whole, Livintius himself was becoming a nuisance, executing law enforcement personnel that encroached too far on his livelihood, something that made him a high priority target.

Evasion and Misdirection

For years Livintius was hunted by the authorities and other criminal organisations he began to frustrate. Many bounty hunters dreamed of the credits that were offered for the capture or execution of Livintius, however none ever reaped the rewards. Many were executed and returned to their employers in various desecrated states, others were simply disposed of through airlocks or discarded in toxic atmospheres to rot. Each time someone targeted him, Livintius would try to think of a more inventive way to send a message. Fearful for the loss of their men, law enforcement officials would consult various undesirable organisations to complete the assignment on their behalf, with the reward of credits and a pardon for their success, many took up the challenge. While most never made it within close range of Livintius, some met him face to face. Some were even able to land a hand on him or a fist in his face, but time after time the aggressors faced a blaster bolt to the head, or a blade through the chest. The constant attention was growing Livintius quite a reputation, one of an indestructible nature, one of resilience and of a public enemy, but it also came at a cost. The constant attacks and trail by law enforcement meant he couldn't take regular assignments with his friendly contacts to earn an income. His attackers were never high priority enough to collect a bounty, and his ship was regularly falling into disrepair due to the lack of available maintenance.

While landing at a friendly port on Therenor Prime, Livintius, shrouded in a cloak and stealth was able to make contact with another mercenary on the run, a Twi'lek by the name of Vu Saresh. Having studied her situation and her skills, Livintius knew she could handle herself in a fight and would be a worthy companion to assist him. With a quiet approach, he soon outlined his situation and his desire for an associate. Given Vu's circumstances and lack of resources, she recognised the positives of the agreement and decided to join Livintius. Introducing her to his various recourse and weapons, including the Tartan Patrol Cruiser, the Yar'borouh, Livintius was quickly to trust her. Whether it was her natural and his previous lack of intimate contact, or his desperation for aide and assistance. Together they remained low within the planet's social structure, gathering the required resources to repair the ship and replenish the weapons and ammunition, before turning to the space above the planet.

With their ship in orbit of the planet, Vu managed to hack the identification tags to cloak the ships true identity from the orbiting security personnel while repairs took place. With couplings replaced and the hyperdrive coolant replenished, the ship was now in complete working order to undertake new assignments.

Keen to analyse the abilities of the Twi'lek, Livintius took an assignment of great complexity and difficulty. Karali Matros was an aspiring politician who had recently entered the race for Governor of Queel III. Her election promises would give the highly population desert planet the increased security, and thus limit the safe haven from criminal enterprises. Given the stance, a large criminal conglomerate was willing to pay an exorbitant amount of credits for her removal from the race by any means necessary. Following Vu's movements stickily as an observer, Livintius analysed her capabilities to greater understand her strengths and weaknesses, while determining what her preferred course of action would be. Initially, Vu decided on a form of blackmail, revealing a number of compromising photos of the aspiring Falleen with a Gamorean slaver. When the claims were refuted and the authenticity questioned publicly, Vu decided that a more permanent solution was required. Subduing a bodyguard and taking their place as part of the politicians security attache, Vu manoeuvred herself to a closet within Karali's personal quarters. Watching from a distance through the scope of his X-45 Sniper Rifle to provide cover and observe the execution, Livinitus watched as Vu quietly exited the closet and wrapped a number of her tentacles around the throat of Karali to shock her vocal chords, before forcefully implanting a sharp knife through her chest, killing her within a matter of moments. As a smiled graced each of their faces, Livinitus signalled Vu to extract, where they rendezvoused aboard the Yar'borouh for a debrief. While respect and admiration was initially shared, Livinitus quickly formed an attraction to his Twi'lek colleague, something that was immediately reciprocated. As their relationship grew, so did their work, as they took a number of assignments together over the next few years, not only bolstering their joint reputations further, but keeping them out of reach of law enforcement due to sheer skill of them both.

Making a Choice

The Ultimate Test

Given heir close proximity to each other, along with their love and respect for each other, Livintius and Vu were inseparable. As a thirty-fourth birthday present to himself, Livintius passed on a number of highly lucrative assignments to spend some time away with his colleague and lover, travelling to the oasis of Condular in the Emmo sector. Travelling through the tropical regions of the planet, he arrived at a secluded cliff face, overlooking a majestic waterfall. It was here than he knelt down and proposed to Vu, who accepted the proposal without question. As they embraced in their love, Livintius began to feel the connection that we sensed when his parents were with him. Their undying emotion and love for each other would keep them together whatever the cost. As the lovers spent several months on the secluded Imperial world, they remained unnoticed by living on the outskirts, bothering no one. An experience rarely experienced by either of them, they began to enjoy the quiet and relaxation, but could never fully embrace it given their professions. They were on guard most of the day with a number of weapons within arms reach, while sensors littered their perimeter. It was a way of life they were accustomed to, and it was always something of a necessity for them. As they concluded their honeymoon, they returned to the private spaceport, to the Yar'borouh. As they arrived, a small contingent of Imperial personnel had landed. Given the majority were evidently officers and not regular soldiers, their mandate was not one of capture. Livintius knew the opportunity was rare, and spoke with wife about acquiring the Lambda Shuttle. While Livintius watched the perimeter for any unwanted visitors, Vu began to splice the outer console of the ship and within minutes had gained access to the ship. Piloting the Yar'borouh, Livintius took off and allowed the newly acquired Lambda Shuttle to dock, before exfiltrating from the Imperial planet, setting a course for Falleen Federation space once more.

As they returned to Falleen space in the Iktotch system, Livintius and Vu immediately received a transmission. A criminal warlord had placed a bounty on the head of some rival assassins and needed his prowess to remove them from the galaxy. Accepting the assignment, the couple returned to the private quarters of the ship to await the dossier of their targets. After several minutes the information packets decrypting, revealing the targets to be the parents of Livintius, Zurros and Var. For the first time in his life he had reached a conundrum. One point of view was to not betray his parents, the other was the devotion to his teachings, his code and his principles to not disobey a promise. Intercepting a number of protocols through the ships scanner, he was able to identify the signal of his parents' Tri-Mark VII Interceptor on the nearby cold planet of Iktotch V.

The gorgeous Twi'lek, Vu Saresh.

Given the complexity of the assignment, Livintius believed the best approach was a close encounter. As he landed the modified Tartan Patrol Cruiser on the outskirts of the planet, he trekked to the source of the signal with his wife. Upon his arrival at their ship, Livintius was greeted warmly by his parents. Introducing them to his wife, they shared a number of stories about their past adventures, including a playful competition as to who had the most successful assassination to their name. While he shared stories, Livintius subtly analysed the room for security his parents had installed, along with any hidden objects that might cause a headache to his assignment. As he distracted his parents, he signalled Vu to place a number of Frame Charges aboard the ship. Unnoticeable and hidden, the charges were placed and Vu returned, signalling with a slight nod that it was done. Before Livintius had a chance to simply leave his wife and complete his assignment from a distance, Vu grasped a B22 blaster from her holster and began to aim her sight towards Zurros. Without hesitation, out of sheer reflex, Livintius' mother unsheathed a Throwing Knife from her wrist holster, flicking her wrist and hurling it towards Vu. As Livintius watched helplessly, he observed the blade enter his wife's neck, causing her to drop immediately. With his plan destroyed and his wife executed, Livintius knew his parents would extinguish his life without hesitation. Placing his hand in his pocket, he turned around and fell to his knees, before pressing firmly down on the activation button of his rudimentary detonator, causing the Frame Charges within the Tri-Mark VII Interceptor to detonate. As the blast hurled him forward into a hanger wall, he immediately lost consciousness as the fire and force ripped through the building.

Indecision and Hesitation

Awakening in a foggy haze, Livintius attempted to move in the bed he lay, only to find himself chained to it. The intensely well lit room had a large amount of medical equipment he had failed to see previously in the galaxy, and none of which gave any indication as to his location. As a grotesque Trandoshan entered, it soon released that Livintius was captured along with his modified Tartan Patrol Cruiser by passing ground of smugglers. His wife and parents were found dead, however he managed to survive the blast, and the smugglers managed to identify Livintius and collect the bounty set by the a Hutt clan operating out of Maltha Obex. While the blast had kept Livintius in a coma for a large number of years, the Hutt cartel transferred his deteriorating body into a state of carbonate freeze to ensure Livintius remained alive until his necessary revival. Unknown to Livintius at the time, he was now eighty years old. While still relatively young, his body had remained relatively intact due to the coma and freezing process, this however was not the primary concern. Given the infection spreading throughout the galaxy, Livintius was given samples of the Metamorphosis Plague, allowing the criminal enterprise to analyse and extract strains of the virus in order to determine its effects and how it could be effectively weaponised. Due to the plague, Livintius had found his regular Falleen physique changing, segments of his neck skin appeared to rot, while most of his internal organs either attempted to merge with others or drastically change, causing shortness of breathe and the need for constant medical examinations. Despite the changes to his body and the possible side effects, he knew he had to escape the facility as soon as possible.

As the installation powered down for the evening, Livintius could easily determine a lapse in the security perimeter. Using some small implements left on the table beside her bed, he was able to unshackle himself and quietly move throughout the station. Splicing his way into the main security hub of the station, he was able to acquire a map of the installation along with the location of the Yar'borouh. Disabling the security protocols holding the vessel, he began to head towards his ship through various maintenance catwalks and other secluded passageways. The outer-docking room was the only way to his ship, and was guarded by two soldiers. With no weapons or implements to attack or distract the guards from a distance, Livintius had no choice but to engage them head on. Despite his long sleep, he was still skilled in the art of combat, quickly disarming both guards, however not before one could discharge their rifle, causing security alarms to blast around the installation.

With the guards subdued, Livintius was able to splice through the blast door protocols before they were able to sufficiently engage, allowing him to board his modified Tartan Patrol Cruiser and depart the installation. While he as out immediate trouble, several squadrons of fighters had launched on an intercept course to disable or more likely execute Livintius. Hastily moving to the orbit of the planet, he implanted a number of random coordinates into the navigation console, before engaging the hyperdrive system and evacuating danger. As the journey took its time, Livintius retired to his private quarters, where he attempted to understand the immense loss he had experienced.

Upon exiting hyperspace and running several diagnostics, he was able to determine his location of arrival was the Zonama Sekot system. Given its unaffiliated nature with any galactic government, Livintius could finally spend some time to catch up on the history he had missed. Purchasing a secure compound on the outskirts of the planet by selling his only possession, the Yar'borouh, he established a number of uplinks to news organisations and government intelligence to not only establish the aftermath of the ordeal with his parents, but what had happened throughout the galaxy during his time away. Intelligence reports indicated that his wife was killed instantly by the knife wound to her throat, while the explosion badly burnt her corpse to the point of making identification difficult if not for the cybernetic identification tags impacted in her eyes. His parents perished in the blast, shrapnel from the shuttle forced its way through Var's skull while the force of the blast claimed the life of Zurros. Through the sheer ordeal and the pain it had caused, Livintius began to question his actions, why he had been so stubborn and followed instructions without questioning their motives. After months of questions and years of drinking, Livintius sought out another form of assistance, that of religion. Remembering the vows he witnessed from his parents during their patronage within the Falleen clan Kthran, Livintius download a number of feeds about their ideals, and began to embrace their teachings in his search for guidance. As the knowledge began to transfer through his consciousness, he began to understand that his principles were not the issue, his principles had kept him alive. His ability not to hesitate in the face of adversity saw him live through an immense ordeal with the other parties did not. The wisdom allowed him to understand the sacrifices he had made both of an intentional and unintentional nature, while giving the opportunity to move past the depression and anxiety that came with it.

Differences of Livelihood

I Am Here To Serve

With a new found sense of religion and affirmation with his principles, Livintius felt ready to sell his compound and change his livelihood. Purchasing an rusting Belbullab-22 from a local merchant, he christened his new vessel, the first he officially purchased himself with the name Saresh after his departed wife. Navigating the vessel, he decided to head to a region of space he had only heard of, the Neshig sector. While still a wanted fugitive, his absence from the public had caused many to forget his history, while the Metamorphosis Plague he had been infected with was able to subtly change his appearance adequately for those who were still alive and able to remember. Spending a large portion of his time aboard his personal ship, he blanketed a number of classifieds and other security companies with his desire to work a more honest form of life. While many had not heard of his name or history, thus rejecting the application, a Kuati female named Tex Navos was keen to speak with him. Given she had been targeted by her past and shaken up by the ordeal, she desired a bodyguard and companion who could travel with her, even get into certain mischief when the opportunity called for it.

Livintius embraces his new sense of peace and prosperity.

After an initial introduction, both parties appeared interested in the skills of the other. While Tex began to seek information on the past of Livintius, Livintius tailed her to ensure his secret would remain, leaving his former life on the run behind him. While she was able to maintain a low profile throughout the streets of her home on Vorsia Companion, Livintius simply acquired an X-45 Sniper Rifle from a weapons merchant and surveilled the Masterforge, the headquarters of Tex's employer, Dark Skies Gearworks, maintaining a fix on her office. As Tex looked through the dossier of Livintius, he patiently waited and observed her moves. Pouring through hundreds of documents, she was able to analyse the life of the Falleen warrior as if he was on the front page of every holofeed. As she engaged a holocommunicator, Livintius felt his right index finger grip the trigger as instinct told him to fire. His finger relaxed when his own personal communicator signalled an incoming transmission, inviting him to visit Tex in her office, and to stop targeting her with a sniper rifle.

As Livintius arrived at the office, Tex subtly pointed out the internal security protocols she had in place protecting her, not to mention the security feed of the same area where Livintius was aiming from. Impressed by her skill and prowess, he listened to her outline their relationship and her understand of his history. She explained that she had been through similar circumstances and that her identify was also buried from various authorities, showing him a level of trust she showed few. Knowing of his devotion to a cause and the evidence of his principles, Tex had little doubt in Livintius' ability to work, and offered him a position as a personal bodyguard. While initially hesitant to be working for someone, given his current standing in society and lack of funds, he saw little choice and graciously accepted the offer, pledging his services to the Kuati female. Given access to a large array of weapons and vessels for transport, Livintius left Tex to continue her work, while he remained in the shadows, out of sight, ready to protect when necessary.

As he upgraded a number of security protocols while analysing Tex's patterns, he soon realised this was no easy task. His loyalty was pledged and he welcomed the challenge, but he knew that given Tex's rebellious nature and affinity for trouble it would be difficult to implement change. Instead of restricting Tex in her movements, Livintius established a number of checkpoints around her office while embedded various safeguards throughout her security. While all invisible to the naked eye, it allowed Livintius to surveil and analyse all threats towards his employer, without her needed to handle them herself as she normally would. Immediately impressed with his effective strategies and efficient workings, Tex increased the salary of her loyal bodyguard, while giving him to opportunity to use some of her budget to hire a colleague or associate. Revealing the story of her wife's aftermath, Livintius said that he could no longer trust another to undertake his work, and pledged to remain by Tex's side regardless of the situation or personal stress it placed on him. Understanding, she admired his devotion, using some of the assigned budget to improve various amenities to him, while improving their personal weapons and comforts, to ensure the long hours would no longer be such a struggle as they previously were. As Livintius welcomed the extra cash-flow, he as a last security measure, installed two CVI Rotating Heavy Cannons in panels outside Tex's office door. Satisfied with security of her office, Livintius set up a small office in a room outside to surveil his various feeds and analyse materials as they came through, in service of his employer.

Service to the End

While his security efforts at home had improved the safety of Tex in the company of friends, external threats were still of paramount concern. While accompanying Tex Navos on recycling operations in the Manda system, Livintius witnessed Tex receive an encrypted transmission from Alderaan, one that was causing visual concern to her. While she assigned control of the various recycling entities to the YV-666 they were using, Livintius prepped the docking YT-1300 freighter, the [DSG] Morning Star 04, for a journey to Alderaan. While Tex had a relatively clear idea why she had been targeted, Livintius analysed various reports of the planet, along with listings of various criminal holdings that could be held by the Red Star Ring, Tex's prospective target. Upon their arrival, Livintius was escorted by Tex through the various enterprises he had red flagged, coming up short on all leads and possible directions, leaving them at a dead end. With the advantage not in their favour, Livintius, and the behest of Tex, hacked the local news net to transmit information about her location to Red Star representatives, to encourage the momentum to join them for a change. As Tex implanted a small tracking beacon within her left wrist, Livintius remained hidden at a distance to track the signal, surveying the initial meeting point through the scope of a X-45 Sniper Rifle. Rain began to pour on the surface making surveillance from a distance a challenge, but Livintius was able to witness Tex be captured by two operatives, and he was able to follow them to a large Lictor-class Dungeon Ship codenamed Phalanx, and sneak onboard.

Upon his arrival, Livintius was faced with the frustrating task of navigating the ship silently, remaining undetected while attempted to ascertain Tex's location. Crawling through a number of ventilation systems and subduing several targets, Livintius was able to slice into a control console, and find Tex within the large prison system aboard the ship. Maneuvering through the corridors as fast as possible, Livintius readied a DL-18 blaster, and swiftly kicked open the large door, shooting two Kaleesh guards, striking one square in the back of the head, while shooting another in the small of the back. Before the Falleen was able to attack Volkov, he was hit in the stomach, causing the blaster to fire a shot at the base of Tex's metallic chair, destroying its stability, knocking Tex to the floor. Trading blow for blow with Volkov, the battle sprawled out into the hallway before Livintius suffered a kick to the right shin, forcing him away as Volkov ran towards the bridge. Collecting his DL-18 blaster and a vibroblade, Livintius tailed his victim, sprinting all full force after his attacker. As his pursuit continued, he was greeted by grunt after grunt attempting to stop him. Each swiftly met their end by a slice from the vibroblade or a shot from the DL-18 blaster as Livintius failed to give up the pursuit. As he finally reached the bridge, covered in sprays of blood, Livitnius was hit by a hiding Volkov, knocking his weapons from his grasp. Fighting back with forceful punches and swift kicks, the two warriors engaged in an energetic battle, leaving neither a clear winner as their battle trade its fair share of blood and bruises. As Tex scurried down the hallway after them, Livintius began to get the upper hand, landing a number of kicks that caused Volkov to loose his balance, before a backspin kick launched Volkov away, seemingly giving Livintius victory. As Livintius launched at a slumped Volkov to deliver the final blow, he was quickly subdued by a stray punch, before the sharp, deadly force of a sharp vibroblade entered his chest from a blade Volkov had unknowingly collected from the ground. Beaten by a worthy adversary, Livintius simply brandished a faint smile toward his killer, before Tex charged into the room, causing Volkov to swiftly remove the blade from Livintius' chest, causing him to collapse helplessly on the floor to draw his final breaths.
